The deal, which runs through January 2027, will pay Orgeron $100,000. The former LSU head coach signed it on Wednesday, the day the program announced that he was returning to Baton Rouge to work as a special assistant to recruiting and defense on coach Lane Kiffin’s staff.

Orgeron can coach during games, and he’s expected to be one of the 10 assistant coaches who are allowed to make recruiting trips, according to a report from On3.

That’s a lot of money - in 1990 for an assistant. I guess that’s why they call him “Special Ed”.

Kiffin had to do this to get the rights to hold “Tell the Truth” Mondays.

Nobody takes a job with a place they got fired from for that type of money and demotion. Unless they absolutely loved that place.

Can’t be pumped up enough to have Bebe back.

I really don’t like him coming back. He embarrassed LSU during his traveling roadshow after he was let go. You can’t go home again.

Best part of this is that he will be allowed to coach during games. I hope that means he’ll be on the sideline. We need that Coach O energy out there during games.

This is LK doing for another what was done for him. Saban revitalized LK and Sark by putting them on staff. O left in disgrace and wants redemption. This is a beautiful thing and great for the LSU program

I never would've guessed it would only be $100K. Tells me that CEO just wants to be a Tiger.
