McMakin will be just the fourth person to handle the PA duties in Tiger Stadium since 1955. The late Sid Crocker did games there from 1955-85, followed by Borne starting in 1986 and Franques, who filled in for Borne over the years.
The son of former LSU baseball player Wally McMakin, Dixon graduated from Catholic High School, LSU and the LSU Law School in 2013.
Elected representative for District 68 in 2023, McMakin is also a financial advisor and attorney. He has been the radio play-by-play announcer for Catholic High football games and a PA announcer for several LSU sports over the years.
