Four-star LSU safety commit Ryan Yaites announced Sunday that he is shutting down his recruitment and is solid with the Tigers.

Yaites originally committed to LSU back in April over Texas Tech, Michigan State, Cal, and others.

The 6-1, 180-pound prospect from Denton, Texas (Guyer HS), is rated the No. 22 safety in the country for the class of 2023, according to the 247 Composite Rankings.

He told Saban “don’t come around here no more” and Saban pleaded “don’t do me like that.”

To be entirely fair, I doubt Saban is chasing the #22 ranked safety in the country.

I’m sure Saban was really sad when he got stuck with…

Yeah what kind of bizarro world are we living in. The recruiting process should end with a commitment. It is stupid that all these kids still take phone calls and visits with other schools after they have committed.

They should enjoy the process! They earned it. You worked your butt off to become one of the best at your position and schools wants to wine and dine you and your family, pay for your trips to the school, get to watch the best college games for free (most recruits come in for the biggest games). Why not take advantage of that?

Because you made a commitment. If you aren’t ready to stop enjoying the process of recruiting, don’t commit.

Isn't that what a "commitment" means - that you are not going to entertain going somewhere else?
