LSU Loses Commitment From 4-Star WR Omarion Miller

Four-star wide receiver Omarion Miller from Vivian, LA announced his de-commitment from LSU on Sunday afternoon.

Miller, a 6-2, 190-pound prospect from North Caddo HS was LSU's first commitment for the 2023 class when he gave his verbal pledge to the Tigers last August.

Not care is not the work or way I look at it. Pissed off at it is my way of looking from a far. I love LSU. I don't care if this helps LSU. It is long time bad for everyone. Give a college kid this much money and what could happen? And it's not that much compared to the next level that they want. But some get a taste and they just think it's easy and don't do the work.

Let’s see how all this NIL crap plays out in year or two because all these teams like A&M who want to pay kids ridiculous money are only getting some of these players because they are paying them. Wait until some of these players walk off when they don’t get their way. These “boosters” are going to tire of paying players only to watch them leave to play for somebody else.

Get use to this.. this will happen more and more as the highest bidder wins.. just becuz you sign a 4 -5 star player one year doesn’t mean he will be here the next year.. the NIL is now college free agency.. they need to eliminate the word “ commitment”…

To land top recruits you have to pay more than the next guy. It's that simple. The problem is there is no salary cap in CFB like the NFL. The programs with the alumni with the most money will land top recruits. Facilities, educational opportunities, etc. are now inconsequential to landing top recruits. Money talks. Until there is some type of NIL cap, look for schools like aTm and Texas to get the best recruits.

I don’t see how a NIL cap could pass a legal challenge. SCOTUS has ruled on this and the NCAA is not a single employer like sports leagues. The players would have to unionize and sign a CBA with that single employer and it doesn’t exist in CFB.

I guess it is better than negotiating behind the scenes and using LSU as leverage by staying committed and not letting LSU know he is looking elsewhere and surprise them close to signing day with a decommit. At the same time, he may have expressed interest in visiting other schools, or about LSU giving the same deal that other schools were floating and was told he needed to de-commit if he was not sure about where he was going so LSU could start to re-recruit his spot.
