Bryce Underwood, the nation's No. 1 overall player for the class of 2025, announced his commitment to LSU on Saturday.

The five-star quarterback from Belleville, Mich., chose LSU over Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, Michigan, Oregon and Penn State.

With Underwood onboard, the Tigers now have the No. 1 overall quarterback in the country, the No. 1 overall running back in Harlem Berry, and the No. 1 overall wide receiver in Dakorien Moore for 2025.

The 6-4, 215-pound passer has led Belleville to three straight state championship game appearances, winning the title during his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Underwood threw for 3,165 yards with 40 touchdowns and just two interceptions as a junior this past season. He also had seven rushing touchdowns.

The addition of Underwood gives LSU eight commitments for the class of 2025.

Great, now let’s go grab Washington’s OC and have him do for this kid what he did for Penix

If Joe Sloan isn’t promoted to at least co-OC, he will leave. And if Joe Sloan leaves, there’s a very strong chance you can kiss Bryce Underwood goodbye.

Now we have to protect him for 1 1/2 years from all other colleges.

He's got a Heisman waiting for him at LSU

That's probably 1 of the reasons why he chose LSU, he watched Jayden Daniels win the Heisman this season. He thought to himself I can do that too, and Daniels is leaving, so, yeah, I'm going to LSU.

It's good news and all but nowadays It's hard to get excited about a "commitment" from a high schooler anymore when you know there are so many things that can go wrong between now and when he actually takes the first snap at LSU. NIL and the transfer portal just changed everything about college football and how we should think about recruiting.

Actually less true about recruits. You see far less decomits in this new era than the previous

This doesn't seem accurate, Hester.
