Has anyone created some kind of alumni NIL group that anyone is aware of? If you get 5000 alums to commit to $100 a year, that’s an easy $500,000 a year of NIL money to spread around. In return just ask players to do boys and girls clubs events, promote charitable fundraisers, etc. This would help us retain and get a few players and it is cheap of you get lots of people to agree to contribute. Just need someone to start it up.

That hasn’t happened yet but I am 100% certain that LSU’s current NIL has much more than 500k to spread around. I know that we have millions at this time with more coming. That’s just from several of the bigger businesses. There is a lot more money willing to be shelled out than people around here believe. We can now easily handle million dollar deals with more on the way. The structure is in its infancy stages, being organized, and we already have plenty of money to compete with anyone.

Really? The answer is yes LSU was late to NIL party but they have it under control now. We can spend

Doctor, I think you don’t understand my question. I mean an NIL where the general public, regular earning LSU alums and fans can give to. Not just NILs set up by rich boosters or companies, but a regular fan based NIL group.

LSU and Brian Kelly have put together one of the best coaching staffs, top to bottom, in the country. Also, Kelly is well-known for developing linebackers for the league. It sounds like this man understands the availability of real opportunity at LSU.

Disagree. He understands the power of NIL. He assumes he will get to the league regardless of where he plays for the next 3 years...and sadly, he's probably right.

Some of you act like the NIL just became a thing because more you have just a taste of visibility, it’s been happening since the Pony Express.

I don't really care what games these prima donnas play! I guess the attention they garner from their bait & switch tactics is fulfilling to them and I wish them all the satisfaction they can achieve from it. But at the end of the day, I do want them to choose the Purple & Gold! GEAUX TIGERS!

I personally don't like bidding wars for high school kids. Come and show you want to play football. We can pay once you're here and contributing, but not this. I know, I know - I am still adjusting to the New World ...

I don’t like it either, but it is what it is. I suspect it will quickly correct itself in a couple years when all the big boosters at places like Texas 8&4 and UT get tired to throwing money up front to kids who transfer after a year or two due to PT or whatever. I imagine the numbers will drop for high schoolers just from boosters tired of getting burnt.
