LSU has suffered its first decommitment since Brian Kelly's firing, with four-star edge rusher DeAnthony Lafayette reopening his recruitment on Sunday.

Lafayette, a 6-1, 230-pound rusher from Orlando, Fla., is rated the No. 34 edge rusher in the country for the class of 2026.

He originally committed to LSU in July over Oklahoma, Miami, and other offers.

A verbal commitment is not a commitment anymore. Let us know when you sign them papers.

Even signing the paper doesn’t much matter anymore. Talk to me when you suit up on Saturdays

Suiting up on Saturdays doesn’t matter much anymore, you can opt out the moment another school offers you more $$$

Totally makes sense. He just watched Danielle Hunter wreck shop on JAX, but who cares. I have never followed recruiting, because until they show up and go through spring practice and play, they're all equally worthless at LSU.

Panic is justified only when Todd Graves ‘decommits’ from LSU. It’s all about the money now. Loyalty has become a commodity.

Once a HC is hired, we’ll see turmoil. We’ll melt regardless because it’s what we do.

There was always some smoke about him staying committed, I guess it was a lil more than smoke, he just used the firing as an out.

With our NIL and the portal, I'd rather spend the $$ on someone with experience.
