Actually, she was nine. However the marriage supposedly wasn't consummated until she was twelve. Still, that's not necessarily relevant to the conversation regarding whether CJ's jersey should be retired. As for me: I was a student at LSU when CJ played. He was great to watch and we loved him. We called him "Cash" when he was at the free throw line because you could bank on him. But in all honesty, I don't think his jersey should be retired. He was special. He was one of our all-time greats. But he didn't quite hit the stride of Maravich or O'Neal. Close. Very close. But off by just the least little bit.

At least he's not totally self-centered and narcissistic like so many NBA players. He actually cares about a higher power and trying to do what's right. I'm a Christian but I respect him for trying to be a good person and I guarantee he is a much better person than many Christians.
