The Baton Rouge police announced Saturday morning that Dyteon Simpson was arrested for the shooting death of LSU Basketball player Wayde Sims. He is being charged with second-degree murder.
Police said that Sims stepped in to help a friend who was in a fight when he was shot by Simpson, who was wearing glasses during the incident. Those same glasses were left at the crime scene and were used to find DNA that led to his arrest. Simpson admitted to the crime Saturday morning.
