LSU star pitcher and No. 1 Draft pick Paul Skenes signed with the Pittsburg Pirates on Tuesday and landed the largest contract bonus ever for an MLB draft pick.

Skenes will receive a bonus of $9.2 million.

Former Arizona State infielder Spencer Torkelson previously received the highest bonus at $8.42 million from the Detroit Tigers in 2020.

That is a pretty good selling point on why to transfer to LSU. At AF, he wouldn't have received that or went where he was drafted.
