The speed at which those bears scaled that tree was terrifying.

My first thought was I'd shoot a bear before I let it climb the tree I'm in. After seeing how the bear sprinted up the tree I realize that cowering in fear is a far more likely outcome.

It was an adolescent bear, the reason he went up the tree was because something scared him up the tree, probably the other bear. You can see he was going to go down, but the other bear was below him. That’s why you hear a snarl and he starts popping his jaws. The bear probably shite hisself when he realized there were two “huge things” in the tree he decided to climb.

That’s a pretty amazing video. That bear was up that tree in seconds. Is the reason it didn’t attack is because it had to hold on to the tree? It’s crazy those 2 kept calm

Bear got up that tree so fast, they didn't even have a chance to get scared... I'd bet the ole balloon knot was clenched pretty tight for a while there.

I shot a fat racoon out from on top of me who was doing less and far less likely to injure me himself or entice his mother to get involved. They were much more still than I would've remained.
