On Tuesday, the White House administration officials had an update on this situation. A phone call between WNBA star Brittney Griner and her wife is being rescheduled...
quote:

Griner's previous attempts were unable to connect because of an "unfortunate mistake." State Department spokesman Ned Price referred to this mistake as a "logistical error."
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s top spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, recently commented on Griner's situation...
quote:

“She violated Russian law, and now she’s being prosecuted,” Peskov said. “It’s not about being a hostage. There are lots of American citizens here. They’re enjoying their freedoms … but you have to obey the laws.”

What does she expect? Being an American does not give you immunity. European and Arab countries have long considered hashish a bigger problem because this is basically pot. They don't see cocaine and heroin as a big deal because its not consumed by as many people. If she were to serve 6 months it would be a travesty considering other foreigners in that country have served 10-30 years for this. Hey, idea, ....dont have FKN HASH on you.

Being an American? Griner specifically goes after America and talks about how racist and awful it is. Why would she now want the government of the country she openly hates to come to her aid? Weird how that works.

Golf pros catching flak for taking Saudi "blood money". Why hasn't BG gotten the same vitriol for taking Putin's oligarch friends' cash?

A Siberian gulag awaits! From what I've read online, she's looking at a minimum of ten years of hard labor.

I guess she’s finally finding out what it’s like to be held accountable for her actions. I don’t think she’s liking it either.

This White House and it's staff are probably just confused what it means to actually enforce the law of the land.
