I’d like to know how the guy ended up there. It was really tough on his rescuer just to get to him it was so deep yet that dude is all the way under a tree and on his back buried under 3-5 feet of snow.

trees like that often have a "well" under them that a person can fall into and then snow falls in around them from the fall. That was terrifying. I saw by BIL fall in one and he miraculously dug his way out before I could get to him.

What if this guy took a path just to 10ft to the left or the right? What if he called his mom for a few min before he left that morning? What if he had to take a shite before he left.

I can't tell how remote this location is but the fact that this guy passes by him within the exact 10min frame that he needed to is nothing less than a miracle.

I got chills watching that. Holy cow. Can't even imagine what was going through the guys head thinking he was going to die that way.

I didn't realize I was holding my breath until he got the guys face uncovered. DAMN that guy was dead for sure probably not to be found until the snow melted.

I wonder how long he'd been there thinking it was the end.

Saw an interview and the guy was down there 5-7 mins - oftentimes the person is dead in 10-15 minutes from asphyxiation so he likely only had a couple of minutes left at best. Head first snow burial is no joke particularly because the guy looked like he had no air pocket at all.

Absolute legend. That guy is so incredibly lucky the skier happened to spot him.
