Burn it all down. These college athletes are either amateurs or they are pros... Make a decision and stick with it. I was the biggest CFB fan in the world and now I can't stand it
user avatar
Yeah, keep letting these old arse boomers make billions off kids.

Subcontractors at best.

Been saying to get buyouts in contracts. Also, make them sign multi year contracts out of high school.

Nick was right.

This could really backfire on Arkansas. They could come off looking like the bad guy.

On what planet?

How? Kid got offered and said yes. Something needs to be done to control this nonsense.

They’ll be applauded among the fans but won’t help them bring in players….itll take some of the bigger schools to join in on this to make a difference which none will willingly put themselves at a disadvantage

Good for Arkansas. This is completely out of control.

Every single person at the ncaa should be horse whipped.

Seems like the ncaa was taken to court for trying to reign in this shite. Everyone applauded the schools for going after them and winning. This is what happens when Pandora’s box gets open. Congrats I guess.

The NCAA was never built onto paying players. Blaming them is a bit absurd.
user avatar
What is absurd is, for decades, making billions of dollars off of these kids on a non-guaranteed contract.

Let it burn completely down to the ground I don’t care anymore. These entitled athletes need to start earning their keep the old fashioned way.

All these thoughts in the comments miss the bigger point. NCAA had lawyers fighting this for 25 years minimum. The fact that the higher education centers can't come up with a system that works for everyone involved insane. They had a chance to do the right thing. The people making money off football since its inception were not interested in paying players. Now the players get a piece, and no one has any idea how to make it work for everyone. Sounds batshit crazy if you ask me.

Well said

The players were extremely fairly compensated.

The players always got their fair share. My company makes 40. mill a year and I am involved in every dollar of that. I get 70K in salary and they don't pay for my living arrangements, don't pay my utilities, didn't pay one dime of education expenses, don't provide me a personal trainer, a chef and free buffets of food.

I don’t see the appeal in what has become minor league sports anymore. Pining for the BCS say it ain’t so.

Stuff is out of control. Hoping to see the irony: Ark buys a player who was "contracted to play at another university". LOL

Good. Every school needs to start enforcing this in order to save the sport.

It's about time someone stepped up and did this.

I would like some more info on NIL spending rankings among men’s “college” sports. How far off is Baseball from Football and how far off is Soccer.

If you want to be a professional and get paid professional money, then you need to be prepared to act like a professional.

Stop referring to them as “kids” or “students.” These are professional athletes and they must abide by their contracts or face the consequences.

Something has to be done to calm down the wild wild west. If these players can cross the street for a quarter without ramifications, they absolutely will. No one can blame them for doing it, because they CAN.
