I forgot FSU even won the NC in 2013. That’s how relevant that NC was.

misleading stat... implies Bama was in the playoff ever year.

It doesn't imply that at all, can you not read and comprehend? Try thinking about the point the statement was making before replying!

The fall when Saban leaves will be delicious. It is coming at some point.

I mean Bama will come back to earth but we'll still win a NC probably 1x every 10 years. Bama pretty much has (minus 1-2 decades) since the 1940s. But yea, we're allowed to enjoy the current fun, even if we lose to UGA.

At this point, I'm just assuming Alabama has some kind of Emperor Palpatine clone waiting to unleash on us as soon as the first one is gone. :(

How many NATTYS since 2008 weren’t actually won by Alabama? Like 2?

Didn’t Joel Klatt say Alabama’s dynasty was dead like 3 national championships ago?

an even more unfathomable statistic is the last time a team won its program's first national title, florida in fricking 1996

Alabama never had to beat Alabama to win a NC, except in 2011.

Calendar year 2008

It should be since 2007, unless they’re counting LSU’s ‘07 title during the calendar year the game was played. Bama has been on another level, obviously, but the SEC has won 10 of the last 14 national titles. That’s really the message here, even though 6 of those titles are Bama’s. Will be 11 of last 15, with six runner up finishes (3 of which are SEC vs. SEC).

Try 2006. Florida beat them in Gainesville that year.

They did count it along with regular season games when 2019 LSU and 2010 Auburn won it.

Alabama can now recruit other active college football players playing at other universities. This means that every outstanding player is auditioning for a spot on the Alabama football team. Alabama football's roster will be a five-star studded roster of All-Stars lured from every college and high school football program. I expect Alabama to win the NC every year from now until an undetermined future point in time. Alabama will rise even higher as the pinnacle of CFB programs and Alabama's dominance will only increase. It's difficult to fathom just how great and dominant Alabama football will now grow, given the new rules about Transfer and NIL. It's unfathomable, and, certainly, a disaster for every other college football team.

Good. At some point, we need to realize it’s more about Saban than NIL and transfers. Texas and ATM will probably have huge NILs but they won’t be in the playoffs every year. If a player is auditioning for a transfer to Alabama, he’ll play his best, thereby helping his original team. I remember when Alabama was a dumpster fire. If you’re patient, it will come again.
