This is what it’s going to take CONSISTENTLY for the basketball program to thrive.

We had probably the best atmosphere in Coleman I’ve ever seen.

We beat a very good team that just upset a top 5 team.

We shut down their best player (about as well as you can) at the end of the game and we didn’t make costly mistakes at the end.

All of this is meaningless unless we can win the road games against lesser competition. In the tournament we won’t have that crowd behind us and can’t depend on home court flows. We have to just be a solid team.

You've got to think that win is pretty good too from a recruiting standpoint. Loud environment, freshmen making plays, and topping it off with a big win.

Well, you also aren't going to be playing road games in the tournament so why do road games matter any more than home games?

While that is true, I feel like our freshman feed off of positive energy so much that we become a top 15 team at home but anywhere else we are mediocre.

I mean, I would say that pretty much every college basketball team is better at home. I think the home court/field influence is great in CBB than any other sport. And I agree that the best teams can go on the road and find ways to win.

Regardless if you agree with Avery's coaching. At least there is excitement around the program. Also 50+ scouts is pretty amazing to hear.

This is an interesting team. Turnovers seem to be the villain, that and playing up or down to the competition level. I'm buckled up and enjoying seeing us knock off some of the elite competition. No team goes from being poor to being dominant in the short run. We need to focus to get better. I guess that could be translated into Sabanese as "execute". It seems we are capable of much better play than we have seen in recent years.

Today was the best, most cohesive game I’ve seen us play in a long time. It gives me hope that the kids are figuring it out and starting to gel. Our final stretch of games is brutal and we need every W we can get. They will have to learn how to carry that intensity on the road. Great game and great victory today. I’m gonna use the 24 hour rule on this one. Roll Tide!
