No sir. I was going to count the gravel in my driveway during the game. Figure I would save a ton of money, have as much fun, and my dog will finally come out from under the couch.

Yessir, I will be there. Will have my AU garb on. Don't know what color I am supposed to wear, and don't care one twit.
Will cheer loudly for my team. Will shudder when we are 3rd and Durkin, knowing we rush 3, applying no pressure, and drop 8 into zone where the defenders stare at the QB and their feet don't move.
Will stay the entire time if winning or leave a wee bit early to drive a few hours home. War Eagle!.

Nope...too much money for travel, time off, hotel, tickets, et al for watching a sub par product that has NIL around 40 Mil which seems like a ripoff in comparison to other teams.
And, I can take that money and spend it on something fun to do, that won't raise my blood pressure.

Watching it at home. Tired of spending hundreds to watch us lose.

I’m not married and I can honestly say there hasn’t been but few if any people or things I was more attached to than Auburn football in my 20’s.
I’ve been saying for a few years I was done only to let the next season destroy my weekends the following fall. I’ve officially checked out though. I volunteered to work overtime tomorrow. I will still watch the game from my phone but not if there is a more entertaining game going. I’ve finally detached my emotions from this team and let it be what it’s supposed to be “sports entertainment”. Problem is Auburn football isn’t entertaining.
I’m no big wig and Auburn certainly won’t miss my absence but I will not spend another red cent in Auburn until someone in the program becomes serious about football again. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut and our 6 win seasons year after year tell me that it’s lack of effort on some fronts.
IF(and that’s a big IF) we start playing competitive football again in the next 20years I will come back but as of right now I’m no more attached emotionally to Auburn football than I am US soccer. Sure I hope they win but if not sorry about their luck. WDE baws

Is part of it due to Auburn being flat out bad since 2020? Yes. Is part of it due to the transfer portal, with loyalty in the college game non-existent? Yes. Is part of it due to the game becoming more focused on NIL and less focused on winning from the players standpoint? Yes.
College athletics used to be pure. It used to be about winning, development and progress. It used to be about hard work. For fans, it used to be about following a player from recruitment to the professional ranks. It used to be about family.

That said, already paid for our season tickets so two 'tards in our house going.
Still, I am getting closer and closer to letting them go. I might be able to hold on long enough to give Comrade Golesh a fair shake (which is probably through the '27 season to see if he shows progress). But even the rest of this season seems a long time to hold on given how much money (largely a sunk cost already for '26), time, and energy it costs. After last week's game, I was WRECKED until Wednesday.

Have not listened to one podcast.
Have not watched one YouTube video.
Not gonna watch the game.
I will check the score sometime later and if we win, I will watch it on Sunday.
I am done with watching our offense fall apart with no adjustments.
You can’t fix a QB’s problems when he is 22 years old. The defense let us down on Saturday but the offense (as always) failed over and over.
It’s just not fun anymore.

Going today but only because my son is coming to town and bought a pair for us. Not going to pass up spending time with him but wish we were doing something besides watching AU lose to Vandy for the 3rd year in a row. There was a time not too long ago when the thought of that being possible would have had you deemed insane.

A couple of my wifes friends got me to doing some gardening when I moved here. This is their thing and we are tagging along. Should be interesting. I am less into the inside small stuff. More about the trees and big stuff outside

sitting here at the AU Marching Band practice field, listening to them play War Eagle only elicits feelings of nostalgia, not excitement
wife was in the AUMB when we met, and its Alumni weekend, so we drove up after work last night to one of her old prof’s house way out in the country to stay in the little house by their pool - not the most glamorous of lodgings, but absolutely free and comfortable
got up & got some coffee & a breakfast sandwich on our way in, later after practice we’ll walk up to her cousin’s daughter’s tailgate, she was the flower girl in our wedding, now she & her husband (both AU grads) are empty nesters - time fricking flies
havent got a ticket yet, prices are dropping like a wounded Arab so I’ll probably wait a bit, gonna buy the cheapest one and sneak down to the band section to watch the game with my bride
its a gorgeous day, weather looks perfect, and physically i feel no different than i did back at the first Alumni Band gathering in 1988
but yeah, the magick is gone, and it has little to do with the product on the field - it just seems like the entire experience has left me behind
at any rate, this weekend isnt costing much - $40-50 worth of gas, another $40-50 for a ticket (wife gets in free), probably $100 more or so for meals and other paraphernalia
that said, this may be my last AU game day, gonna try to enjoy it win or lose

Yeah that is mostly what is at the botanical garden. They have plant sales twice a year. Picked up a peanut butter berry for my son & vanilla banana plant. We also got them some cool lime type trees etc. They have a ton of decorative outdoor trees and plants.

I’m seeing a long time, lifetime, hard-core fans are zoning out more and more. Serious question, do you think the administration knows how the common fan feels? question Do you think the program knows? I’m just curious if this type of information gets to the powers that be.
