re: OU's offense and the defenses they have played...some numbers
Posted by Lurkin on 12/7/18 at 2:51 pm
Against UGA, Bama's offense played like hot garbage for 2 quarters, used their 2nd string QB and scored 35 points while throwing 2 INTs on the goal line.
Could have easily put up 49..playing like hot garbage for a half.
OU is going to get skull dragged.

What about James 2?

If Alabama loses to OU it will be considered to be a massive choke job by Saban.
Their defense is pitiful

Alabama made him look very pedestrian in the CFP last year..so I approve
re: Does anyone actually feel sorry for us?

No. You guys think you have arrived when in fact your coach is terrible at in-game adjustments.
He's a great game planner and a great recruiter, but Saban owns him with the in-game adjustments. The last two games are evidence of that.
I foresee a lot of really good or great seasons where you guys fall just short because of this..

I dont see Bama scoring less than 38 and I think Bama could hit 50.
So 50+
So 50+

Alabama is the first team basically ever (1880s Yale team) to win its first 12 games all by 20+ points.
We remember 95 Nebraska destroying Florida but Alabama has destroyed EVERYONE.
If Alabama wins all 15 games by 20+ there is no denying it that they will be the GTOAT

Let's have this discussion in January.
re: Are we about to have a changing of the guard in the SEC?

Florida was a 5 point favorite. Alabama is a 14 point favorite.
That's a YUGE difference.

What kind of defense does miss state play behind the front 4?
Even a dominant front 4 isn't going to get a qb in the shotgun in under 2.5 seconds. Something had to slow down the release.
I think we were also playing our back-up left guard that game. Tua also loves to try and take the deep shot, so sometimes he'll wait a bit.
re: Alabama fans, tell me about Tosh Lupoi

I would he make a lateral , at best, move to Auburn? Alabama can pay him way more money to stay in the same role.
He's probably waiting for a head coaching gig in the PAC-12.

He typically knows where he wants to go with the ball from the pre snap read, so he's usually pretty quick and decisive.
This is true but he's not the type of QB who only sticks with the pre-snap read. There are numerous occasions where he's held the ball 5+ seconds waiting for something else to come open.
He's very good at evading pressure and then scrambling as well.
The kid is the best QB to ever play at Bama, by far.

Alabama has really good play design
Posted by Lurkin on 11/28/18 at 9:16 pm
LSU, MSU, and Auburn all stayed (or tried) in 2 deep to keep Tua from cutting the top off the defense.
This worked until halftime of the Auburn game and then Alabama adjusted.
They started bringing both Jacob's and Harris into the backfield, PAing to one and running the other one out into the flat.
This forces at least one of the safeties to commit at least initially. It was lethal against Auburn in the 2nd half.
They also made good use of pass PA in the 2nd half to Jeudy, which pulled the safeties out of position and allowed Tua to hit Ruggs deep for that circus TD.
You dont realize how good they are until you watch in slow-mo.

Only if Texas beats Oklahoma
re: One under-the-radar key to Bama v UGA

LSU and MSU also had a pass rush. UGA does not

LSU and MSU were also pretty good at limiting the big play. UGA will absolutely commit 2 safeties deep all the time and force Tua to take the underneath.
The problem is, if UGA can't get pressure, theres no way UGA can cover those wideouts for long periods and they have the speed to turn an underneath crossing route into a 70 yard TD.
They do it every game.

re: Georgia fans, if bama goes 4 wideouts the whole game

I fully expect this game to be close at the half. Georgia could even be winning.
But I expect Bama to explode in the third quarter like they did against Auburn, forcing UGA to abandon the run...and when they do..
It's Terrell Lewis time off the edge and Fromm gonna get sacked...a lot.
Bama covers the spread easily.
Anyone else feel like OVER 63 feels like stealing?
