If Bama can run the table the case will be made for greatest of all time most definetely. A lot of Nebraska and Miami fanatics would say their 95 or 01 teams should be no. 1. But can we break that down?

Ok first of all it's 2018, do people seriously think a team from 1995 could beat this Bama team? Lol Tom Osborne was 12-13 in bowls and not to be harsh but was kind of known as a loser (at least in the big games) until 1994.

And I know Miami was talented in 01, they had 5 first rd picks and all that but I mean they had 6 first rounders in 02 and couldn't pull off a repeat. In 01 they played the weakest NC opponent this century, a Nebraska team that lost 62-33 to eventual Big 12 champ Colorado. And could u picture the coaching matchup between Nick Saban vs Larry Coker? Lol

Thoughts??

Fair enough I mean it's possible. My main point being though is that I just believe in the evolution of the sport. Players are just bigger, stronger and faster. Schemes are more complex but more advanced. What I mean is hell even the Georgia team we are about to play could probably beat those teams from the past as well imo. This year or last yr's Georgia team is probably their best edition ever. Does anybody think 1980 Georgia could beat 2018 Georgia?

You can’t compare teams from one generation to another.
Completely different rules, environments, etc.

Miami in 01 would have a case, but Nebraska was too one dimensional on offense to be considered the best ever.

Yeah if you are talking about being 'great' in their specific time then I can see those arguments. But when a Notre Dame fan is telling me the Four Horsemen could run all over the current Bama defense (on Facebook) I just find that really hard to believe. Lol

I’d say 1941 Bama is the GOAT. After all that championship made their record books & they even beat the Aggies in their bowl. Can't argue with those qualifications.

95 Nebraska and their option game would cause serious problems. Bama has a great team though so don’t take it as disrespect. Citadel’s option is child’s play compared to that, just a fact.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure Tua would cause Nebraska even way more serious problems. Those players never even defended the spread. And their defense was seriously undersized Bama's running game would have no problems themselves.

Bama doesn't even need that 41 title bro. We got more major poll titles than any other program by far. Only team in double digits for AP and Coaches titles. Let's not forget Bama got robbed in 45 and 66.

Teams rarely play an option team these days (RPO a different animal), and about the only teams running the option are teams that can't recruit the blue chip players to compete for things like national titles.

It's a real good bet that Alabama didn't spend a hell of a lot of time preparing for The Citadel, with Auburn the next week and UGA in 2 weeks.

With the speed and lateral quickness of the guys on defense these days (even the front 7 guys can run) the option offense would not be successful. If it would be then you'd see title contenders still running it. A lot has changed in 23 years and a one dimensional offense would not work.

Who knows, but you’re comparing a team that hasn’t even won their conference yet to one of the all time bests. We’ll see.

Exactly bro, it kills me when guys are like here derr Nebraska 95 the greatest ever. Lol Bama would demolish those poor guys. U can't complete a forward pass but ur gonna beat a new age Alabama defense?

Lmao against the Citadel all those first round defensive prospects Bama has were just trying to watch their knees against them chop blockers

Athletes are always getting bigger, stronger and faster. Bama would for sure crush the best teams from the 80s.
