Is he a quick read and fire QB? Under 2.5 seconds?

Do plays take over 3 seconds?
Is he reading the defense and giving his receivers 4 seconds to break free?

What is his normal style?

Depends on the play. He gets it out fast on RPO plays, but he's more than willing (sometimes a little too willing) to maneuver around the pocket waiting on a deep man to come open.

From what I saw on 2nd and 26, faster than Georgia’s defense can handle.

Does he see a lot of delayed blitzes?

It stays home for the RPO, but is designed to get him to move his feet.

I'm sure teams have tried that. The only team that has had success getting him off schedule was State once they started getting pressure with 4 and were then able to blitz off of it.

That's the only time I saw him visibly look a little off or rushed.

He reads coverages pre-snap

Could be out of his hand in half a second if he spots something he likes.

Most throws it is out fairly quickly.

He typically knows where he wants to go with the ball from the pre snap read, so he's usually pretty quick and decisive.

Yeah if you’re getting pressure with front four Bama struggles. If you’re bringing blitzes you’ll get home occasionally but he reads defense very quickly. If he is scrambling in pocket it’s because he is giving his WR time to work open.

There are a few challenges with the delayed blitz when it isn't anticipated. It basically removes instinct and slows down the qb's processing when seeing unexpected pressure.

Obvioualy, a delayed blitz is wasted for 3 step drops. Maybe even 5 step with the ball out on time. It requires removing a predictable situation from the QB

This is true but he's not the type of QB who only sticks with the pre-snap read. There are numerous occasions where he's held the ball 5+ seconds waiting for something else to come open.

He's very good at evading pressure and then scrambling as well.

The kid is the best QB to ever play at Bama, by far.

Our backs have been pretty good at picking up late developing and delayed blitzes this year. Tua has only really been hit quickly vs State this year. Most other games any hits he took were because he waited out a play or flipped one out in the face of an all out pressure.

He doesn't suck at playing the qb position. That whole national title second half thing ended up not being a fluke at all.

What kind of defense does miss state play behind the front 4?

Even a dominant front 4 isn't going to get a qb in the shotgun in under 2.5 seconds. Something had to slow down the release.

Not to mention they were holding the wideouts and getting away with it. Honestly that's the best defense against Tua and Company. Mug the wideouts and hope the refs allow it.

Otherwise this offense is unstoppable. It's not bragging if they back it up and they always do. It's a damn privilege to be able to root for them. Every fan should get the opportunity once in their lifetimes to have an offense this amazing to root for.

We are forever spoiled and will miss it when it's gone.

They were basically jamming and playing physical at the line on our receivers and counting on their front to get pressure. They jammed and outnumbered us in the first 10-15 yards of routes, and so it was both limited time and limited options. Then once that was effective (after the first 3 drives or so when we moved the ball a lot), they started bringing blitzes on random downs.

All in all it was a great plan, but one that only really works if the front 4 can get pressure because you have to outnumber us in the back. It doesn't work if you are gambling and leave us 1 on 1 across the board.

I think we were also playing our back-up left guard that game. Tua also loves to try and take the deep shot, so sometimes he'll wait a bit.
