I miss the good old days of McConnell where the SEC track championships were basically the Arkansas Invitational.

McDonnell.
We're not getting the top U.S. kids. They're all going to NAU, Colorado, Stanford, etc. But Coach Mac always had top runners from the UK, Australia and South Africa. Now we're not getting those kids and are trying to compete with East Africans. So is Alabama and a lot of other schools.
There are two problems with that. One, a lot of these guys are over 25 and have already run professionally. They don't even have birth certificates. And a lot of African runners dope. They get busted all the time. We've had some that were legit, like Josphat Boit and the legendary Godfrey Siamusiye, but Coach never loaded the team with Africans. Watch the meet tomorrow. The front pack will be dominated by Africans.
For Arkansas to be Arkansas again, we need to reestablish that UK connection. I expect us to maybe get 2nd or even 3rd in the conference. Hoping for a win, but not expecting it. We have a big drop off after our 3rd runner. No depth.

Have they already named Arkansas the winner?

Yeah track and cross country aren't even the same sport as a few years ago. No such thing as developing high school talent anymore. Import a top 5 of 25 year old east Africans and dominate or your team isn't gonna make it.

I did rather enjoy the last Olympics where all the Arab nations were in the front of the pack with runners from Ethiopia and Kenya. The second pack was made up of Europeans and Americans.
