Jimbo Fisher Reveals When He Thinks Texas A&M vs.Texas Rivalry Game Will Return
Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports
If you were hoping for a Texas vs. Texas A&M game anytime soon, get ready to be disappointed. According to Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher, there’s “no way” the rivals will play one another in the next decade...
quote:

“If it’s what’s best for Texas A&M, I do (support playing the game),” Fisher said on during an interview with KLBJ in Austin, Texas, per 247Sports. “We’re playing in the SEC and we’re playing in a great league. It’s a great rivalry and there’s a lot of history there and if that’s what’s best for Texas A&M we’ll do it.

“But right now, that decision was made a long time ago and we have no control over it. There were some things done there that are water under the bridge and I don’t know what all of that was, but I know right now there’s no way (the game) is going to happen for 10 years or so.”

They won’t play because Texas might actually make the Playoffs in the coming decade. A&M? Notsomuch!

I can promise you that most of "the water under the bridge" is Texas dominating them and they don't want to have likely another loss more times than not on their seasons resume. That's the main reason. They're scared little figs...which is as expected.

Aggies have a great schedule even without longhorns. Texas schedule is a bowl of cold mush.

Lol. Try to justify it all you want to with that bullshite. Everyone knows the true reason why you pussies won't play them. All anyone has to do is check out the history between Texas am and Texas and it's glaringly obvious that it's a one sided affair. They kick y'all's arse too much and y'all don't want to play them unless y'all have to bc you don't want to have another loss on your schedule. Lol, gtfo with that bullshite.

Texas was upset that Texas A&M opted to go the the SEC when Texas wanted them to go the the PAC 12. Aggies said no and Texas Athletic Director Deloss Dodds got mad. Here is an article from the Houston Chronicle. ......USTIN, TEXAS -- The Texas-Texas A&M rivalry appears to be over. Or, at the very least, suspended. Texas athletics director DeLoss Dodds sent an email to his counterpart Bill Byrne at Texas A&M to let him know that Texas' nonconference schedule was full through 2018. "In my e-mail to Bill Byrne, I wrote that we were not in a position now to look at future football scheduling," Dodds said. "We're scheduled out with nonconference games through 2018 and our Big 12 schedule is not yet settled. What we have right now is a full schedule but if any future options are available, the decision will not be made by just one person." Texas A&M will start competing in the Southeastern Conference in 2012. Even with that move, Byrne told the Houston Chronicle that Texas A&M has always been open to continuing the 117-year-old rivalry with Texas. But Byrne told the paper that door had been closed by Dodds when he told him Texas' nonconference schedule was full through 2018. Texas had publicly been noncommittal when it came to continuing the tradition of playing Texas A&M on the traditional Thanksgiving date. Other schools, such as Notre Dame, have been floated as possible replacements for Texas A&M. The last scheduled meeting between Texas and Texas A&M is set for Nov. 24 in College Station......Texas A&M said "anytime, anywhere, anyplace".....A&M is moved on and does not need to play Texas (now on their third? head coach) any longer.

Why didn’t they play in a bowl game last year? Could have been the Texas Bowl in Houston.
