On Friday, Evan Russell was not in Tennessee's lineup. While covering a game between Missouri State and Oklahoma State, ESPN broadcaster Troy Eklund claimed Russell's absence was related to a failed drug test....

“It was pretty crazy, failed a drug test so Evan Russell is suspended for the rest of the season," said Eklund, via Knox News. "So Tennessee is going to have the whole rest of the team tested tomorrow, or the NCAA is. So it’s going to be interesting to see if that’s just a one-player thing or throughout that is going through that whole entire program. Performance enhancing drugs is what it was said."
Tennessee was not happy with these claims and demanded a public apology...

If I’m ESPN I’d not only not apologize I’d go on air and say the entire team is addicted to meth

That wouldn’t be too far off from ESPN’s liberal politics they try to force onto everyone.

Well what was the reason he missed the game then? You can’t say that wasn’t the reason and then not provide any further explanation.

They absolutely can. They have no requirement to tell why. It would be ESPNs burden to provide the proof if that was the case.

They don’t have to supply a reason, but I predict that the Streisand effect will not be kind to the Vols.

If you could read, you would have seen that Russell’s dad released a statement saying he was getting treatment for mental health issues related to anxiety and stress. He has been cleared to return tonight and it had nothing to do with a rules violation. Makes sense why Vitello didn’t releases more as it was a family matter and a mental health issue. frick all you sorry bastards.

Tennessee is good, but something is off with this team. I think fans from the ‘90 era of MLB can taste it in the air.

The baseball players need to show the football players what to take. Maybe they could finally beat Bama.

Problem for ESPN is that they can't fire the announcer, because he would be able to turn around and sue them for all the other announcers that have made completely false statements and didn't get fired.
