Surprisingly Paul Finebaum Texas Moving To SEC Is A Good Move, Here's Why...
Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN’s Paul Finebaum isn’t worried about Texas moving to the SEC, if and when it eventually happens, because he feels the Longhorns have struggled enough in the Big 12 as it is. Per 247Sports...
quote:

“There’s no logical reason … sometimes you just have to do something dramatic. I think this is a nuclear bomb going off for Texas. I’m thrilled with it. To keep swimming in the waters in the Big 12 — even when you were good — there isn’t as much of a sum gain. Now you’re in the best. And now Texas finally has a little attitude back. They are a difference maker. I’m not here to be dismissive of OU. Their resume speaks for itself. But Texas is so big and so mighty … I’ve written them off in the Big 12, but I’m not writing them off in the SEC. I think they can do quite well.”

Pawl is about Pawl. Listeners mean money, adding Texas and OU means his market has opened to millions of more listeners, meaning much more money for him. This is a grand slam for Pawl, he's not stupid.

UT will need to step up their game or they will be embarrassed in the SEC. Football is important in the Big12 but it is life in the SEC. Week after week of trying to hold off teams takes a toll. (with the exception of Vandy of course).

Lol...you don't think that football = life in Texas?

He’s laying groundwork to increase his listening base. It’s all hustle and no credible insight… just like always.

Not a fan, but Paul is actually kind of brilliant. He will have loyal listeners for years with Texas and Bama fans.

Horrible comparison. A&M's brand grew with the move to the SEC. Texas's will too.
