by Larry LeoJanuary 2, 2020

Look at Auburn's record in Bowl Games even going back to Tuberville. They have always treat the bowl practice as chance to work the younger guys for Spring. The Veterans did not even practice until they got to Tampa. Auburn doesn't scheme for these games they run their base offense and throw in a few gimmick plays.

i dont want to hear about sec teams deciding not to play because its what you call a meaningless bowl.
you suit up to win. you play the games to win. tell kentucky that game was meaningless. when your team loses in a bowl game then the spin machine starts.
Not every team can be in the top 4. That doesnt make the rest of the games meaningless. The coaches want to win. the fans who buy the tickets to the games want to win. Winning is everything.
Its the fans who make excuses because they need a reason to devalue the loss. plain and simple.

Well it's true to a certain extent that //some// SEC teams have pouted and were not interested in playing in the bowl they got. Last year UGA literally laid down to Texas which made them think they were kings of the SEC. They did the same thing this year with half a team not playing but ran into a horrible Baylor team. The big 12 was the real letdown yet again this year. Minnesota played better and Auburn has had very inconsistent play all year. I don't really count Kentucky and Miss State or even UT for a real SEC experience.

What is a “real SEC experience”? They are real SEC teams playing real teams from other conferences. Between this and the “pouters” we might as well stop making any comparisons based on bowl games. Maybe that’s your point?

The SEC is not being overrated. It's just the best football conference in college football bar none, and every other conference is extremely jealous of the SEC because of it.

Got a good friend that is an Auburn grad. He admitted they just got beat, outplayed, no excuses. Better team that day won

Minnesota scored more on Auburn than LSU, therefore Minnesota offense > LSU offense due to the transitive property of football

Was watching him last night after the Georgia game and just said "A-fricking-men" aloud after his mini-rant. SVP still one of the better talking heads for the sports mouse.

The media loves educating and scolding the fringe lunatics on each side, just like the political spectrum. The reasonable and quieter middle-ground people understand nuance in a vacuum.
Is the SEC the best conference? Yes
Is the B1G (easily the 2nd best conference RN) way behind the SEC? No
The end.

The media couldn't educate a gorilla. I usually find that most people who refer to "both sides" have very limited and pedestrian understanding of a topic. The perfect audience to be impressed by journalism majors.
