Stripping/ staining/ protecting wooden pews on covered front porch
Posted by luvdoc on 6/29/26 at 2:16 pm
A local Parish is remodeling, and we will be picking up a pair of pews for our covered front porch
any recommendations for preferred products to strip, stain, and coat for long-lasting protection from sun and humidity?

Well said, and I would put it in other way:
Her vote was based on whether she regarded the consequences of the law to be "good "or "bad ", which is not in the purview of the judicial branch.
Her job is strictly to determine whether the action is legal /constitutional
if she wants to change the law to do "good ", she should run for Congress

For such a beautiful woman, and likely due to the era of the show, her costume did little to flatter her pelvic figure
I had an enormous fig tree I planted as a cutting and shaped over 15 years, ultimately with 45-50 varieties grafted onto it that got ambrosia beetle borers and outright died
My experience has been that, particularly after a late freeze that kills off new spring growth, the damaged plants put off a scent of decay/alcohol that is ambrosia beetle Chanel number 5

The VT proximity (integrated radar) fuse on our anti-aircraft shells also played a big role

If each step takes you halfway to the wall, then with an infinite number of steps, your total distance traveled, x, is:
x = (1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 + . . .)
And
2x = 1 + (1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 + . . .)
Then
2x = 1 + (1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16. . .)
- x = - (1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16. . .)

It doesn’t matter how many repeating 9’s you keep tacking on, there’s also always a zero at the end, because the number of potential digits is infinite, which means .99 repeating can never equal 1.
There's not a zero at the end if the 9s go on for Infinity
The Taylor series in Kama's post is another great introduction to the true concept of mathematical Infinity
If you stand one foot from a wall and every second take a step halfway toward the wall, how long does it take to reach the wall?
The brain teaser answer is "never", because you are always "only getting halfway there".
But if you truly take an infinite number of steps, it can be proven that the sum of your steps equals the original distance to the wall

As often as necessary? Your media sounds like something that is likely to dry out pretty quickly.
if you are not comfortable in your ability to reliably water as needed, repotting to more conventional soil may make sense. Maybe even just cut out the bottom of the current pot and put it down into a larger pot of conventional soil
I usually root in mature compost which is more forgiving, but even then I will put a tray/pan under the pot to catch about an inch of draining water every time I water, making the soil at the very bottom of the pot saturated initially, but generally giving me a little cushion to avoid drying out between waterings

It sounds like you have things well in hand. The hard part is over. Except the desire to do more. I would leave them be until they go dormant then transplant to pot or ground
Edited to add: you will need to have gradual removal of plastic bag and down the road gradual exposure to increasing sunlight

Many patients with many varieties of cancer are cured, capital "C", no more cancer, everyday
I have heard it said:
God blessed us with sunshine and rain, but we must plant the seed.

Keep in mind, none of these patients were cured
15% had complete regression radiographically, but recurrence was universal. Fewer than half had any shrinkage at all.
A 12.5 month median survival (half the patients died within that time) is pretty impressive for HPV negative recurrent head and neck (throat/mouth) cancer, but this treatment is at best a holding maneuver for patients whose curative treatment has failed.
Though often gruesome, management with chemo and radiotherapy, plus or minus surgery, is truly curative in about 85% of patients with head and neck cancer.
This experimental immunotherapy agent may one day be included as a component of the multi-agent curative regimen, as many of the new immunotherapy drugs have become in the treatment of other cancers, but none have proven curative in their own right

Yup. It looks like the best combination of reverence for American history and top notch production values
