On his Always College Football podcast, the former Alabama QB turned SEC analyst Greg McElroy shared his SEC schedule beef and wants it changed...
quote:

"It’s there, it is what it is, it doesn’t really make the sandwich better, and it also doesn’t really add any value whatsoever, to your regular season schedule,” McElroy said, beginning at the 30:30 mark of the video below. “I want to see this week completely destroyed."

And the rest of power 5 who play OOC and in conference 'cupcakes', what about them?

With the longer season the way it is it gives teams a chance to rest any nicked players before final season run for teams. In contention. I disagree

Who cares. You either play them at the beginning 3 games in a row, or throw one at the end.

Did he have an issue with it when he played or was he okay with a layup game before the Iron Bowl?

But yet you want to penalize a team that plays a P5 and loses a close game vs beating NWChicago A&M and having one less lose

This week was terrible outside of the SEC head to head games. Bama should never play Austin Peay.

Can't say I disagree. I wanted the SEC to adopt the 9 game conference schedule with 3 non-conference games.

Every Conference should play no less than 9 conference games. All of them keep adding teams but only playing 8 conference games is dumb.

False, the opposite is actually true. All conference games equal out to .500 for the conference. Adding more conference games just ensures that the overall conference records will be closer to .500, meaning the conference will appear weaker. It's the OOC games that allow the conference to prove it's stronger and to also raise the conference record further away from the .500 the other 8 games impose. If there is anything needed, it's more higher quality out of conference games, not more in conference games.

Larry, you're not on some bizarro infatuation with Greg, are you? I mean, we aren't gonna be reading about his grocery lists and shite, right?

Sec should declare a challenge to Big Ten. Non con games in Sept. put an end to their arrogance

I always thought theres a way for non con schedules for Power 5 teams to play each other. At least something like SEC vs ACC this year mb SEC vs Big 10 next etc etc. All conferences MUST play 1 game like this. Gonna be a crapshoot on who plays who and if they happen to be up or down
Yea we shouldn’t have lost to Fla St but way it could happen is we penalized vs Mich or Ohio St.
If it’s getting harder to make playoff why wouldn’t SEC play ALL cupcakes
I’d be willing to say Bama Georgia Tenn AND mb us are 4 best teams this year

Larry loves gumps like GMac and Rece. He will be sending us info on fatass Barret Jones next. frick off, Larry. The shitty scheduling is a direct product of Bham SEC Bammer employees wanting to "keep muh ribalry games!"
