Not sure exactly how you'd know this but don't forget about the new redshirt rule.If he gets healthy enough he still can play in 4 games.

Good grief. What’s is in the water with UGA running backs and knee injuries. I thought that luck left with CMR.

I’m hearing there’s a chance it’s not ACL.

I think we should redshirt him either way so he can fully heal

I'm hearing it is the ACL but we plan to play him through it. Weird.

He can still fully heal and play this year.

White did indeed tear the ACL in his left knee and will miss the season.

While this does completely suck dick, I guess one bright spot is that since he's never played it's not like we KNOW what we're losing out on? Losing Trenton Sturdivant in 08 was a tyson punch to the gut because we knew how damn good and valuable he was the year before, we don't know anything about zamir and he hasn't had 1 carry for us so it's not like we're really losing anything....I guess?

Holyfield will carry the inside load

I hate this not just because he's phenomenally good, but because we don't have anyone else with that specific size/skillset to replace him. The closest would be holyfield, which is likely a less good version of zamir's best. I'm sky high on cook but he's completely different than zamir. Bama every year has these big bodied RBs that look like linebackers and can fly and that's what I expected zamir to be which we now don't have. We'll roll with swift/holyfield/cook which is not a slouchy lineup in the least bit, but man it'd have been nice to have zamir in there.

I guess it might be better to go into 2019 with a 100% ready to roll zamir instead of 2018 with a ~70% zamir?

I agree. I read an article this week that more or less said that you dont see many upperclassmen have "breakout" seasons if they haven't already as underclassmen. Holyfield isn't chopped liver but I believe this hurts. It also puts a lot more on Swift's shoulders.

It's early and we haven't seen White even play yet but I saw him and Swift definitely carrying the load with Holyfield & Herrien spelling/Cook playing 3rd down & Mecole role from last year. Now you have Swift as the elite back and his backups.

In my opinion this unfortunate injury means we will be airing it out more. The offense is certainly built for it. And because of this I'm happy as hell the Dawgs was able to pull in James Cook.

This, and DRob's acceptance, could be the yang to zamirs knee's yin.

Godwin/DRob/Mecole/Ridley/Nauta, with Fromm/Fields...I mean GD that's a formidable passing attack. Plus an improved OL.

I don't think we'll be hurting on offense by any means.

Swift’s groin is still a thing. UGA’s RB depth took a major hit today.

Has there been any update? The last mention of his groin injury was 4 months ago. He wasn't mentioned by Kirby.

Other injuries, according to Smart:

• DB Eric Stokes (finger)

• OL Isaiah Wilson (cramps)

• WR Jayson Stanley (quad)

previously injured

• LB Robert Beal (unknown)

DB Tyrique McGhee, (broken bone in foot)

Expect a very fast hurry up offense. Scrimmage today was sloppy and vanilla but the OL is going to be everything all you Dudley Dorights want it to be. They’re going to absolutely maul some people this year. Conditioning won’t be a problem.

The only silver lining is the saying that a great OL can make a 3 star rb look like a five star.

We seem to have a great, elite ol, so hopefully the other guys can all still shine in rotation.

But every silver lining has a touch of grey.

We will get by, we will survive.
