Hopin' we play it close to the vest the 1st coupla series (try to run it). AM has gotten better but he still has that tendency to be over amped to start the big games. Give him a chance to catch his breath & calm down a lil early & we got dis one (the "D" needs to give us one stop in the first two series)...

NO TURNOVERS IN THE 1ST QTR, DAMNIT!!!!!

My question was - IF we can run all day long and eat clock to keep their offense off the field, would Bobo be patient enough to do it?

No, hes never done it, why would he start now

Bobo will do what he thinks will work best on their defense. He's a professional who is paid to do a job...he likely doesn't give a rat's arse how a game goes as long as we score more points than they do.

Nailed it.

If the run is working he'll run it til they stack the box. He'll run it some more until they stop it. Then he'll go up top. He's not a moron and neither is their DC. Quit acting like Bobo is incompetent.

All this booboo love is funny. Just wait until we score 7 points on an UCF or play games like the Fla game or SC game last year. Then there will be little love. Funny how he has gotten better since we hired a competent offensive line coach and started getting bigger backs who could run.

So the OC's success is made or broken by who's coaching the OL? That's a new one to me. And you don't think he's had any say in who we recruit on offense?

Geez, this staff simply can't win with some of you. I'm sure if either of those 4th down TDs in Jax 2 years ago had failed you'd still be calling for his head today.

He's not. He got Joe Cox to throw 24 TD's and 2,500 yards.

amazing.

The seasons are much longer than they used to be and we play more patsies than we used to play so more points are scored. Running 50 points on Costal Carolina is not impressive. As bad as the defense played in the second half of the Bama game, the only reason we got close was the defense held them as long as they did (includes two turnovers)and the blocked punt.

What's your timeframe as far as "used to"? 02 and 03 had 12 regular season games, 04/05 went back, then from 06-present there's been 12 regular season. He's still the one putting up the points though.

We actually play FAR tougher competition under Richt than we have historically. Boise/OSU/ASU/CU/Col/etc..

Then what is, scoring 80? If we beat them 24-0 you'd be calling for heads that the score was so low. How high do we need to run it up before it's acceptable?

You overlook the fact that bama had the #1 defense in the entire country, yet our RB was productive and scored 2 TDs and Murray carved them up like a thanksgiving turkey in the final drive with the game on the line. We did as well on offense against bama last year as anyone else not named aTm.

So Gurley's beast running and Murray's very good passing had nothing to do with it? Is putting 427 yards, 5 TD and 45 points on the #1 pass defense in college football (Nebraska) not impressive?

The defense isn't the reason the SECCG was close, they were the reason UGA lost that game. If the DL (I'm looking at you, John Jenkins) didn't bring their purses to the dome, Georgia would have gone out and dropped 45+ on ND to win a national title. I'm not really sure what else you can possibly expect from this offense. Other teams have talent on defense, so it isn't like they are gonna go hang 70 ppg and 1000 ypg on everyone.

A schedule facing the #1-12 total defenses in the country, putting up 50 points and 500 yards on each of them.

Yeah that's basically what it seems like. JimDawg expects Bobo's offense to make the 1998 Minnesota Vikings look like last year's Jets.

They have hurry up, no huddle offense packages and they work. We ran them on Ole Miss, Bama and pretty much everyone else except SC and that game is a freakin nightmare to even think about.

Funny thread... Bobo seems to have improved with age and maturity. Although he's always going to make those occasional calls that leave you scratching your head...often involving dive plays or draws on third and long in situations where we ought to just take the freaking risk and sling the ball...

I don't see him as pass happy. Our play-calling has been pretty darn balanced overall.

And who says we are capable of lining up against any top 10-15 team and running 85% of the time and winning? Are we an 80's Cornhusker team? No! And who the heck wants to be?

Georgia doesn't run a real "hurry up" offense like many teams. They run a no huddle offense to keep the defense from substituting, but generally take time at the line of scrimmage and don't run quick snap plays like an Oregon team does.

Murray calls the play at the line of scrimmage.

90% of the time we're in the shotgun rolling right and our slot guy finds a hole 2 yards deep and we hit him.

I know what you are saying. I also know that it is the most often playcall for a 2 point conversion. But I'd guess that if you go back the past 2 seasons, it's probably only 50% of the time.

Since you understand football, you understand that the slot man is motioning. And that's the read for where the weakness in the defense is. And that's why half of our two point conversions are that bootleg play.
