Richt has a reputation as a great QB coach, but why haven't we had a run of quality QBs since 2000? Greene was committed to the Dawgs before Richt, and probably wouldn't have been recruited by him. Other that DJ, Stafford, and Murray, Richt has failed at finding a quality QB. We are truly lucky Stafford and Murray stayed healthy during their careers.

List 5 programs that have had better QB play over that time period. I bet you can't.

You realize the 3 you listed make up 8 of his 11 years since you took out Greenie.

Yea, the QB's have been consistently good. I'm frustrated we haven't recruited QB's who can buy time with their feet. Anyone know why Deshaun Watson wasn't interested in coming to UGA?

Considering all the complaints during Murrays years and the calls to bench him for anyone else, I'm actually surprised he stayed his final year. Glad he did, but still surprised.

I don't care about other teams. How did the saviors LeMay and Parks work out? Ramsey hasn't shined either.

They weren't really hyped up to be saviors, both were known to need a lot of work coming in, but feel free to keep complaining about probably the most consistently well performing position we've had over the last 15 years.

Greene (2001-2004)
Shockley (2005)
Stafford (2006-2008)
Cox (2009)
Murray (2009-2013)
Mason (2014)

Not many teams have had a better run of QBs since 2000

Because there is a very, very limited number of great QBs. The best any program can really hope for is a string of serviceable-to-good ones, which is mostly what we've had.

This is a joke, right?

But needless to day, we clearly had a failure of judgment in scouting when we thought Ramsey was the next big thing...there must be some serious lack of progress for Lambert to be starting after being in the program for two months.

Hw wanted to play QB in a spread O, Richt probably would've made him into a safety

Haha I was thinking the same thing. "God damn, our QBs have sucked arse. Except Greene was good those four years...and I guess Shockley winning the East in '05 was pretty good...then I guess we did have a #1 overall pick for three years...and that guido who set SEC records for 4 years. But those other 2 years, JESUS frick!"

Who in the hell are you comparing UGA to then? You know the Patriots are in the NFL, right? And Peyton Manning isn't at UT anymore.
