I actually expect the tickets to be pretty pricey. Two fan bases that travel well. Texas’ biggest bowl game in 9 years as well.

From the looks of Ticketmaster right now, you can get standard tickets (I.e., non- secondary market) for 150 plus fees in the upper levels. There are already many of those on Stubhub today that are less than that. As a result, I don’t think the tickets will be the issue. Hotels, on the other hand, are high based on what I saw earlier today.
FYI for those of you going the secondary market route, Stubhub is doing 10% of bowl games today (when you purchase through the app) if you can stomach paying the fees.

Yes, while New Orleans has plenty of hotels and you can usually find some pretty good deals, from what I could see of the market around New Years they are going to be pricey. I like the Royal Sonesta in the French Quarter and you can actually walk to the game. A room there was going for $459 per night before taxes and fees. I remember staying there during “normal” times for less than $200 per night.
Ran into the same thing in Nashville for a pro game a few weeks back. There are lots of hotels downtown but we couldn’t find anything decent for less than $500 a night and the place we ended up staying ( which we had stayed at before when there was no pro game in town) was way less for non-game weekends.
Supply and demand I guess in the wake of New Years/ special events.

Airfare was outlandish this morning. Tickets are cheap. Got a friend with a Condo near the quarter for free but $800 + bucks per flight times 4 I’m out. Plus it’s a freaking Monday night. If airfar drops I’m taking the family but it’s going to have to drop at least half. frick living on the west coast!

IN. Driving from Jax. Long drive but will be my first trip to the Sugar Bowl. Got tickets on StubHub for decent price (other than the fee - ugh). Got reservations at TownePlace Suites by Marriott for $150.00 a night. Going to Uber to and from the game.

Sounds like a good price on the hotel. And I sure understand the deal about paying the StubHub fees. That commission adds a lot to the ticket price. Recently I got some good tickets using the TickPick app and they were not as inflated as StubHub.
I’ve gotten them by using eBay and Craigslist before as well but you have to be careful when you are getting them from third parties.

I plan on being there.
Also, hello everyone. Been an avid follower of this place for a long time. Graduated from UGA in 11. Moved to Louisiana right after so I have some ties to Nola. Now currently in Little Rock.
Anyway, I'm as big of a fan as anyone else so I hope we show up and show out New Years Day.

I will have 2 tickets available for face if anyone is interested. Ordered them through UGA with our season tickets. No idea where they are yet. No sure when they will actual be sending them. Not sure if there is a ticket exchange on this site.

Got flights booked. Picking hotel or Airbnb soon. Waiting to see how ticket prices move, but they are reasonable on stubhub, so I’m not worried.
Delta had fares for ~$350 when I booked at the end of last week.

Father is a UT alum, and wants us to go. Spending NYE and New Years in Nola with the rents wasn't my first choice, but I've never been there before and it would be cool to have experienced it.
I'll probably be attending.
