What would it take for Fromm to stay & play his senior year?

I don’t know what the QB situation is for the next NFL draft but Fromm’s a genuinely good dude who, imo, appreciates his time at GA & I think there are pros who regret leaving early for the NFL instead of playing their senior year. Not all of em, but some. Bc the NFL lacks the team camaraderie found at the college level. The NFL’s a job. A grind. A wear & tear on the body. And if your team never makes the playoffs or wins a SB...it’s just a paycheck. A big fat paycheck. With a side of CTE.

Waxing poetic aside, what scenario exists where Fromm takes the field in 2020?

Another close but no natty season.

Not winning it all this year.

So hopefully we are breaking in a new QB next year...

Tua and Herbert will be the first 2 QBs taken next year. If Fromm is guaranteed to be the third off the board, he probably leaves.

However, if he waits until the 2021 draft, he has a chance to be the first overall pick. That could entice him to stay one more year.

How close will he be to Murray's records?

The NFL is not for long. And Fromm type QBs often struggle to break through.

He could leave a permanent mark on the SEC record books if he is close.

He's probably not going to touch Murray's passing records.

I expect a pretty huge jump in Fromms numbers this season.

Not giving away series to Fields is going to show on the stat sheet.

There's no way Trevor Lawrence isn't the 2021 first overall pick.

Not to mention, Eason and Fields are probably top-5 picks too. Top-10 at very least.

So 2021 isn't any better for Jake than 2020 is, unfortunately. So it'll have to be some other reason he stays, if he does.

Forgot about Lawrence in 2021. Yeah Fromm is gone.

The Cardinals would have drafted the rights to Lawrence at #1 overall this year and waited two years for him to be NFL eligible if they were allowed to do that.

It'll take an implosion of Fromm's draft stock to keep him in Athens. This isn't a David Greene or Aaron Murray situation. Fromm is a legitimate first round draft pick.

Right now Jake Fromm is projected to go about the middle of the first round. If he believes he can raise his stock by staying another year then he may do that if it means making millions more.

That’s the only thing that could potentially make him stay.

A 4th round draft grade or lower. Period.

Fromm isn’t coming back just to win a natty. He’s done everything he can reasonably do at UGA short of graduating at this point. If he gets a favorable draft grade, he’s gone.

Exactly. Not sure why a lot of people can’t grasp this

I think it's the Justin Herbert thing. He was a top 5 pick last year but stayed at Oregon. Maybe Fromm will do the same.

He would basically have to throw for 4,000 yards and 34 TDs each of the next to years to pass him up. With our run game and offensive philosophy I don't see that happening.

And I'd have to imagine he's painfully close to graduating as well. Early enrollee, hard worker, and a smart guy. He can easily finish his degree online the spring after his first NFL season, if my assumptions about him are correct.

Anyone else ready to see Fromm air it out a lot more this year? I hope they let him unleash.

Fromm is gone after this season.

No worries, though. Dawgs should have the o-line and the backfield to make up for an inexperienced signal caller.
