We should go ahead and put Cook in the slot and give JT some weapons at WR

Plus, that dude is a playmaker when he catches the ball.

Until someone gets really close to him and he falls down.

True, but we should give it a shot to see.

Brooks Austin already explained why this is not a good idea.

Gone over this a thousand times Spiff and its a bullshite narrative

Go look at his touches and runs last year. He averaged 11 ypt and 6.9 ypc. You can pull up his carries on YouTube or just actually watch any one of his games last year.

Yah, I looked up what Brooks Austin said about Cook and can't find why he says he shouldn't be used at receiver. I don't see why Monken wouldn'try this since we have so many injury issues at receiver. It seems like it could help him with his NFL stock if he could server dual purpose at RB and receiver. I mean look at the play :53 seconds - Cook creates some mismatch opportunities out of the backfied - LINK

That tape also shows you how much we miss Pickens and how much he opened up the field for other receivers.

Damn it sucks that he's not around.

The td was against a linebacker
He doesnt do that against CBs and safeties.

Im still high on cook. But not as a slot. As a runningback rolling out against linebackers

Does anyone have access to PFF stats? I'd be willing to bet he is in the bottom half of the league when it comes to yards after contact.

That doesn't mean he can't be useful to us in the pass game, but Milton and McIntosh should be getting carries above him in my opinion

Cook literally led the SEC in yards per carry last year. When I saw that stat it blew my mind, because as a simple observer it never seemed like he was that good. The "eye test" if you will.

Which means nothing.

If you don't wanna look at ypc or ypt then you rarely watch UGA FB

Everyone settle down. There's no need to fight among ourselves.

If Cook is lined up in the slot, he's covered by a DB. If he's in the backfield, a linebacker has him. He's a huge mismatch for a linebacker but not really a mismatch for a DB.

He lead the league on 45 carries. Not exactly a huge sample size for a running back. It was super inflated due to his game against USCe.

This is what Brooks said during his in-game on Saturday night. Cook on an LB is a positive mismatch. Cook on a DB is a negative mismatch.

It’s a fine enough mismatch if that means Zeus and Milton are sitting in the backfield.

Yours and Brooks argument is one dimensional.

Cook is a mismatch for any defensive player. But having another elite back as an option makes it worth it.

I think the problem with Cook is what it has always been. He’s not terrible between the tackles, we just have Zeus and Milton and even McIntosh who do it better. He’s also a decent receiver but then we have actual receivers too. And finally we run those damn flare screens or whatever you want to call it way too much. If I see Cook start running parallel to the play side LOS I immediately assume it’s that flare screen and I’m right 8 times out of 10.
