Great pickup.

I hope this addition can help a guy like Adam Anderson bulk up to see the field more. A 6'5 5* edge player should be up to 250+ and able to contribute on more than passing downs by year 3.

Less than 1% of kids get a scholarship. Less than 2% of college athletes get to the NFL. Any kid not drafted in the first 2 rounds is guaranteed to have to contribute to special teams.

HUGE selling point in recruiting!

He knows all the dirt and whatnot.. this is bigger than just getting special teams or strength guy. This is tactical. Saban doesn't just have to hire a new strength coach, he has to change everything.

By my count, Saban is now the last coach standing from our last national title team, way back in 2017.

Guy is a natural recruiter. Ever heard a Bama kid talk about him in an interview?

Herbstreit on the hire:

quote:

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Herbstreit called it “a significant loss for Bama” and “a ridiculous coup” by Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart. The ESPN analyst suggested that the move could be the first sign of a “changing of the guard” in the SEC.
