Watch the last 3rd down of the game in the overtime where Fromm throws incomplete to D-Rob?

Most wanted PI call. Check out how open Swift is because his defender went with Pickens. Walks in to the endzone for the win.

I will not

The game was deleted off my DVR the second it ended.

I still like Fromm but this really feeds in to the idea that he doesn’t really read the defense in motion as much as he pre reads each play.

Not Jake's finest game. That was a true freshman type of misread.

The middle of the field was pretty wide open on Saturday...ALL day.
No two ways about it, Jake was just off his game Saturday. And the OL isn’t nearly as good as we keep being told they are. NFL tackles but just awful interior line play. I think Zi have seen all I want to of Swift running into the back of interior linemen who are getting beaten at the point of attack.

I agree. It makes me nauseated to hear the talking heads in the booth laud our OL, based on size alone. If they were as good as the press makes it sound, we should be able to convert any 4th down 4th & 4 or less, no questions asked. We're absolutely not to that point.

We've been pretty good in between the 20s, even Saturday, but woefully inadequate in the RZ.

Swift was positioned behind the ref, I think it was probably just spur of the moment lack of awareness

Immediately after the game I used Darik's Boot and Nuke and wiped my entire media drive. Deletion just wasn't enough--I wanted to make damn sure that the file could never be recovered.

Seemed like Fromm, on some plays, predetermined his target & just threw it with the expectation the receiver would deal with the coverage & catch it. Or draw a PI call.

We shouldn’t have gone to OT. On the final drive’s 2nd & 3rd downs, Fromm had opportunities to abuse the middle of the field for first downs (Simmons/Cook) to get Blankenship closer, but instead forced the ball to covered perimeter receivers (Wolf/Simmons).

The illegal shift penalty killed that 3rd down attempt. But not only was Cook wide open over the middle, so was the slot receiver who had shifted — the streaking WR cleared out the defenders & the slot was open along the sideline for a 1st down & more. But Fromm was going right the entire time & forced the throw into coverage.

Jake’s gonna be sick when he reviews the game. Hope he learns from it.

With no time left it’s not your first thought as QB to go to a receiver in the middle of the field 20 yds short of the TD. They coach you NOT to do that. You would need to almost make that the called play rather than think Fromm intentionally throws short rather than take a shot at the end zone.

That’s being said- I like Swifts chances from there more than a Hail Mary.

It was in OT. There is no clock

At the very least, he picks up a first down there. It was a missed opportunity, but it was just one of many from that game.

The whole play appears to be designed for Swift across the middle but Jake misread it for some reason. Pickens is running a rub route on Swift's defender and all 3 trips receivers are clearing out the middle of the field. As much shite as Coley is getting, which is definitely deserved, that was a well-designed play that could have won the game. Fromm messed up.

Probably misread the ref in the middle.

I think it’s also what happens when all you ask Jake to do all season is throw some safe reads downfield against defenses that are sucked into stopping the run but then you have to throw 52 times in a game just to keep pace and the OL can’t protect and he starts forcing shite instead of finding his best option.

This play is just the culmination of everything wrong with our offensive philosophy. It can work when everything works but we leave ourselves no margin for error when we lost the trench game and don’t account for it in our schematics

I hear you. Had he thrown it to Cook & Cook merely downed himself, there’d be like 4 seconds left with a first down & the ball at the 29. Just saying.

Again. I thought this was the last play of regulation...not during OT. Fromm should’ve thrown it to Swift.
