That’s not what I’m trying to say. I will make somewhat racist jokes to friends of mine that are black. They laugh, and know I’m joking but it doesn’t mean the joke wasn’t racist.
It doesn’t mean the person is racist. I don’t think Fromm is, and it sucks that this girl is posting this over a year later solely to try and ruin his life. I’m solely talking about the joke that was made.

A joke made in private with a friend where he clearly says haha as in - This is not a serious post. He was clearly fricking with her. The context of the post tells you this clearly. If I am putting haha in front of calling someone the N word then yes - that is done because Im being a racist. In the context, you can clearly see he's not being serious. Bad joke - sure - Racist - Nah. People use that word so flippantly it has no meaning. Calling someone a racist holds so little value because people just say everything a white person does is racist.

The point is not that he is clearly racist, but he is certainly aware of the system in place and how it benefits him though. Joking about it is fricked.

Many years back I had a conversation with my ultra-liberal brother-in-law at my house in Atlanta. Several couples were there. One couple was our Jewish neighbors.
My b-i-l was discussing politics and race came into his conversation, as usual. He asked me, "What would you say if a black family bought the house next door?"
In my most irreverent manner I replied, "As long as they bought out the Jews next door I would be ok with it."
My Jewish friends (and still my friends) laughed. My b-i-l just got angry that I would joke about race. That's where we are today.
My b-i-l was discussing politics and race came into his conversation, as usual. He asked me, "What would you say if a black family bought the house next door?"

This is so stupid, I don't know why Fromm was defensive about this. If I was him, I would've written a response that goes something like this:
"A screen shot from an entire text thread doesn't provide the necessary context at what was admittedly a very clumsy and ill-advised attempt at sarcastic humor. Anyone who truly knows me would understand this. The conversation was with someone I've been friends with since middle school who clearly wants her 15 minutes of fame, so I'd like to help ________ (reveal full name of texter) in this regard. You've done a brave thing by calling attention to racial issues in this country and I stand with you"
I would've made sure the entire city of Warner Robbins knows who she is because she deserves it. What a spineless attempt at character assassination.
