Fromm was probably making a joke. The problem is through the text we don't know the context or how he said it. But in this day and age no one really cares about context so the media will just burn him at the stakes.

Of course it was a joke but since our society is no longer interested in further inquiry or context they just automatically assume it's racism of some sort. It's going to be a hell of a year people; just wait til Trump wins re-election. You wanna see fireworks? Just wait for that.

Equally as plausible that it was, probably more likely that it was a joke. That's why further inquiry might help in this regard but since the national narrative is that EVERYTHING is racist then there's no defense Fromm can offer that might clear his name.

If I made a bad joke, I would call it a bad joke. Any sensible person would. Fromm didn’t make that claim, so it’s not equally or more plausible.

He got the Hell out of there a couple of years ago and is a Florida resident.

Of course it was a joke. You can tell that from the way it was written. This country is just bonkers over anything that can be construed as "racial." Unfortunately that covers a lot of territory. Anything can be "racial" these days.
I was talking to a friend the other day, she is the supervisor in a unit that has a large number of black men and women working in it. She has to be very measured about anything she says because anything and everything can cause you to step into that racial minefield. The things that can/are be considered racial is like an ever expanding dictionary. There is no end in sight to this bullsh*t.

I agree. Fromm reasonably thinks that silencers are dangerous in the hands of garden variety people. It wasn't a joke.

You can tell it wasn’t a joke by the fact that Fromm didn’t say it was a joke.
You can actually discern that something’s a joke even if the word “joke” isn’t explicitly said.
Unless you’re already entrenched in one side of an argument, of course.....

Fromm didn't offer joking as an excuse so the assumption is that Jake was serious when he made to text.
I don't think Fromm should be crucified for a stupid mistake but it surfaced at the worst possible time.

Fromm didn’t offer joking as an excuse because it wouldn’t excuse anything and would have made it worse. His apology would have been very shallow. Calculated response.

Thank you, someone with half a brain.
The people who are criticizing Fromm for this won't accept ANY excuse for that text. So Fromm did the Smart thing and just gave them what they wanted so the story would die down sooner.
Of course it was a stupid joke, you can tell from the context of the text chat.
