And they all deserve it.

More than Auburn, Florida, and Clemson, combined.

Hoping we can look back years down the road and have to explain how we had all these NFL studs on the same defense.
Saw a video breaking down the players Miami had on offense, and more specifically the defense, in 2001 and I shite my pants seeing how LOADED they were.

I think Fitzpatrick will get drafted late too for his blocking. This is a very small and top heavy TE class.

What is the uga record for draft picks?
Posted on 2/9/22 at 2:38 pm to meansonny
9 last year.
We'll also have the most players drafted and it makes the 3rd year in a row the NC had the most players picked.

More than Auburn,
But Auburn had more than that enter inthe transfer portal. In fact, I don't think they signed as many as they lost.

2nd round is much more reasonable

Not to open another can of worms. But in regards to AA and the draft. Last I saw he forsook playing again and began training. The question is two part.
One, does anyone take a late round flier on him despite all the uncertainty or is he destined for FA?
Two, assuming he sneaks in. I assume he would be affiliated to us so potentially do we have one more out there? It all depends on the first anyways though.

Cincinnati with like the 5th most is pretty impressive.

quote:WTH? That would be a travesty. Dude is under the radar best tackling safety in the draft, and well above average in coverage. I’ll be shocked if he lasts past round 2. And if some team gets him in round 5, they made out like a bandit.
Lewis Cine, DB (5th rd)
quote:Bet he goes in the 2nd. The Falcons may have sucked this year, but teams noticed what Cordarrelle Patterson did and we’re going to see more of that kind of player on teams. And Cook is precisely that guy.
James Cook, RB (3rd rd)
And anyone who gets Tindall and Walker in the 4th is getting a steal, too. Those guys are only a slight step down from Nakobe. These guys are going to blow up the combine though and may push them higher. They’ll both run 4.5x, jump really high and long, and push up some weight, and open a bunch of eyes.
And Kendrick should be a 1st rounder, but will probably go 2nd. Might just be the best CB in this draft after a couple years.

Cine is make or break at the combine.
I can definitely see 5th round. But if he runs great and shows ball skills, he can move up.
What 40 time are you expecting on Cine to reach 2nd round?
Do you think his ball skills are 2nd round?

I foresee AA going in the supplemental draft if the legal stuff is resolved.

I don’t know what he runs in the 40. Probably a 4.5-4.6. But the kid is a straight up baller with great instincts and a killer tackling mentality.
Whomever gets him is getting a damn near perfect box safety for the next decade. And as a result, he’s absolutely worthy of a 2nd round pick. And any later means someone is getting an amazing value.

He was the leading tackler on a defense that didnt rotate DBs but rotated every other position on the field.
Nakobe Dean had 1 fewer tackle and came off the field a ton. Tindall had 6 fewer tackles and was a backup.
"Leading tackler" on a defense that subs everyone else isnt an argument at all.

Are you trying to imply that Cine is our best cover safety?
I would take #29 Smith as a cover safety over Cine. Cine is a box safety. A damn good one. But in a passing league, covering and blitzing are going to garner better draft grades. Inability tackle can hurt draft stock (cine doesnt have this problem). But a headhunter is going to be getting penalties and suspensions. Those arent draft bumping traits.

This is true. He is extremely intelligent and he translates that on the field in college.
What he runs and jumps will make or break where he goes in the draft. He got torched in man coverage a lot in his career at UGA. In zone, he was an elite college player. The kid can explode and play downhill.

We are a long way from the 90s.
Safeties dont just play downhill. They have to be able to flip their hips in man coverage (otherwise, they can kill the effectiveness of a blitz).
I would love for him to get in the second round. I think he needs under 4.5 in the 40 (or massive jump numbers) to get there.

Are you trying to imply that Cine is our best cover safety?
Not only do I call him a box safety, but I clearly say he’s only “above average in coverage”.
9 PD’s and 1 int isn’t spectacular, but it’s almost averaging 1 pass defense a game, which isn’t bad at all for a box safety.
And it’s kind of crazy to act like it’s a shortcoming to be a guy who never came off the field for a historically great defense, on top of racking up 74 tackles on a defense that only allowed 10.2 ppg and forced more punts keeping every offense off the field more than any D in the country.
We may have rotated a ton while Cine didn’t, but it’s not like Cine was on the field for a lot of minutes either. Our entire D didn’t spend much time on the field.
Not sure why you’re trying to dis the kid. Good grief.
