I think he for $2.25M this season at UGA ($2M base plus bonuses)

What number do we think keeps him?
$2.5M base plus bonuses?
$3M?

IDK if money is necessarily the driving factor. Maybe he likes the NFL

I think he wants to be in the NFL.
But I also thinks he wants it to be a perfect situation.
He has had a perfect situation in Athens.

I don't know the NFL enough to know what a perfect situation is.
He wants a defensive minded head coach.
He wants total control of the offense (including say in the draft and free agency).

Ultimately, these interviews pump up his UGA pay while he continues to wait for the perfect NFL scenario.

Who would we look at if he bolts?

I don't know.
Evidently, Monken was the guy for 2019 but he got the Cleveland gig instead.

A dig at Bama fans would be to get Brady back from the NFL.

My guess would be to look at the available OCs from the NFL and see who is a chameleon that adapts the offense to the personnel/opponent (multiple).

He must love moving. He's been in 12 different locations in his career and the longest at one place was from 1993-1999 at Eastern Michigan. Also includes 2 different stops at Oklahoma State .

I think he stays this year, 3 peats.

After Bowers and company leave, he possibly leaves.

I do not see a good NFL scenario that is better than what GA is doing.

Hell, Kirby only has him recruiting QB’s this point, how hard can that be?!

He doesn’t even recruit them… He has his inputs and tells the people what he wants… then they go get them. He coaches and calls plays. He’s the best offensive mind in CFB right now.

Of course he does…he watches film, he talks via phone and he does visit in person when it makes sense.

That is recruiting even if it’s mostly in a remote way

To other points, maybe he wants to get back in the NFL for the right situation. He has kind of been a journeyman and a lot of time OC's don't stick around more than 4 or 5 years.

I would think Kirby has a list already prepared just in case Monken leaves, but have idea who would be on that list.

My guess is Kirby has a constantly updated "who to go to" list every time an assistant checks out. That way he is never left flat-footed when an assistant leaves.

If the OC is going to be the QB coach, that is a very important role for whomever the OC is going to be.

Dylan Raiola was interviewed on some podcast and said Kirby already has a guy in the system that’s ready to step in if Monken goes to the NFL so I’m guessing it’s Bobo.

Point being it’s not the same regiment most college coaches have.

This is the type of “recruiting” they do in the NFL too, for the NFL draft….so again, it’s not hitting the pavement and flying everywhere, every off day, like most college coaches do
