Making my first trip there Saturday.

Restaurant recommendations? Parking/traffic tips?

Anything worth seeing around the town before game time?

I once spent a month there one weekend.

At check in, be sure to request a room without a view.

Best restaurant in town is a Scottish place named MacDonalds, be sure to have a reservation.

Best i can remember the best sites to see were on the TV in the hotel room, of places not in Auburn.

Look at the birds that fly over JHS, they are all upside down as it is a place, even for birds, that isnt worth shitting on.

Make sure to clarify why any student from Georgia was unable to attend UGA, THEY LOVE THAT.

Oha and go you hairy arse dawgs.

Best restaurant downtown (I MO) is Hamilton's on Magnolia but better go really early, especially on a football weekend. The Hound is pretty popular. They do have a Little Italy as well.

There's a place called Amsterdam Cafe that's a little away from the "downtown" (half a mile?) but still close.

As far as to see...well...not much.

Oh shite, I didn’t know there was a Cheeburger Cheeburger there.

I don’t think I can pass that up. I haven’t been to one of those in years.

Traffic- consider going an exit further down if you are late there.

Parking -For the most part, they still park all over the place and general tailgate spots are grabbed by students and marked with tape on Friday for people coming in Saturday.

Depot is good but busy. Moes Orginal BBQ for tailgate food. Hound has a good burger.

I went there to buy a truck off Craigslist from an auburn student once. That was the biggest debacle of my life. frickin idiot showed up three hours late and the truck looked nothing like the photos and more like he had been running deer or hogs with it. Stump dents all in the rocker panels and 7 codes on the check engine light. Drove from there to Tuscaloosa the same day and bought a nice z71 from a bama student.

Visiting Auburn, Alabama for a football game is like going to a wedding for your least favorite cousin. You know you have to go and try to pretend you're having a good time, but inside you want just want to get pass out drunk and puke on someone. But you know if you do you'll have to stay 'til the end, so you just drink enough to dull the pain and persevere until you can finally escape.

No, there's nothing to see. No, there are no good places to eat. Park on the outskirts of campus so that you can quickly escape back to civilization as soon as you can. And try not to step in cow shite on your way to the car.

Auburn is the least impressive university I've ever seen in person. Basically looks like a glorified community college in an economically depressed and depressing small southern town.

Seriously, Tifton has much more going for it than Opelika. It's not even close, imo.

Opelika is awful. The biggest attraction in the area is a bunch of big box stores and chain restaurants off that one exit 8 or 9 miles before you get to Auburn.

Auburn itself is quaint for like a half day in the tiny downtown near the university. But I spent a week there once and was really anxious to leave.

Mama Goldberg’s for a sandwich isn’t bad. I’ve scored some good chocolate mushrooms from Auburn before. A long time ago….probably because they are easy to come by. There’s cow shite everywhere

My roommate at UGA was from Columbus and his parents made him transfer to Auburn for spring quarter our freshman year(he was going through some personal issues). I would go down to Auburn and visit him. His sister was also in school there. The student body is really friendly. We had a lot of fun hanging out at parties. I've gone back twice as an alumni and it's nowhere near as fun if you don't know people in Auburn to hang out with. The Toomers corner drug store is kind of a cool nostalgic place.

Just got home.

Stadium was pretty bland, but the crowd was loud. The most intense crowd I had been to for a road game considering my only other road games to this point were Ole Miss in ‘16 and Vandy in ‘15.

Thanks for the Cheeburger Cheeburger pointer. Damn good burger.

That one area around Toomer’s corner was kinda cool, but it just doesn’t look like there’s much of anything else in the town.

Also, the Dawgs kicking arse completed the whole trip. frick Auburn
