And it’s not very exciting. Prather Hudson, most noted for running over Laura Rutledge during the UMass game last year, has entered the transfer portal.

Kirby misused him because of the good ole boy network, watch him go win the Heisman somewhere.

Is he even on scholarship? If he is not does he have to actually enter the transfer portal

Wonder if Plumlee will enter. He switched his commit to Ole Miss because Rich Rod was named the OC. Now, Luke is at GA and Rich Rod appears to be out with Kiffin set to hire Lebby from UCF.

Does Plumlee enter and will Kirby recruit him?

Prather got passed on the depth chart by Sevaughn Clark for running back touches. I wish him the best.

The top of that 2017 class sure was boom/bust.

Boom with Swift, fromm, thomas at the top.

Then bust with Gibbs, netori, beal, and holloman.

The mid-tier recruits:
Webb - good
Hunter -bust
Bishop - bust
Herring- very good
McBride- bust on defense (good special teams)
Poole- bust
Grant- ok

The bottom tier recruits
Hayes - noncontrubutor
Blount - noncontributor
Rice - great
Speed - noncontributor
Shaffer - could be very good based on 2020
Brini- noncontributor
Stokes - great
Landers - ok for a .8657 rated recruit
Crumpton - good for a grad transfer

I've tracked classes for a while.
42% hit rate on elite recruits is just below our normal average (roughly 44%).
That isnt far from average. But it isnt good.

Kirby needs to process poor performers and work the TP hard to fill the gaps in his roster hard this off-season.

Would love to have another blazing fast wr/returner like Mecole or IM on the team.

Good analysis. People need to keep this stuff in mind when they are giving passes to staff because of “great” recruiting classes yet poor results. Top rated recruiting classes quickly become mediocre with attrition and under performance/lack of development/bad evaluation.

Good information to look at over time. I would guess that a highly successful team like Clemson has a successful recruiting rating of over 50%.
We need to do a better job of recruiting aka filtering out busts. The team recruiting ranking is not necessarily an indication of the quality of your fielded players. We also seem to have more than our fair share of devastating injuries that has major impact on the quality of the team we field. The recent SECCG is a prime example. Maybe our players need ballet lessons or something to reduce some of these non-contact injuries.

I haven't looked. But I would guess that they look a lot like us.

I agree. Stockpiling 3 elite QBs in a row doesn't mean the same thing as 3 elite running backs or wide receivers. Stockpiling elite freshmen doesn't mean the same thing when 2016 kind of looks like our did.

Why? There is room to add transfers already.

I've never seen a player drop more passes than Landers.

Stanley and Chigbu dropped a shitload in 2016. They were as painful of a duo to watch as Simmons and Landers.
