He didn't mention Richt in there, I wonder if that was on purpose or not. did sony and richt have any bad blood? maybe the PR dept at UGA asked him to take it out if it was in there.

I noticed that, but all things being equal, Kirby was his coach as long as CMR, and just becomes a cluster if you put both in the mix.
That said, it's really hitting me hard that we're not going to see him Between the Hedges anymore. This letter and the photos of him cleaning out the #1 locker for Fields? Gut wrenching.

Doubt it was any sort of bad blood there. If either of those is likely, it could have been a PR request, but tend to agree with the other poster... probably just trying to keep the overall message from spinning out a bit.

When Chubb was hurt and Sony had to step in and be the grind it up the gut guy, he won me over. One of my top 5 all time favorites.
