agree with this. Mainly I think it's at WR. I mean Bama had Mac Jones who I would say is comparable with Beck but they always have 3 or 4 elite WR's. If you look at 2021 we had Bowers who would be an elite WR. I feel like Bobo is still kind of stuck in the 2000's/2010's. Kirby needs to figure out how to load up on 5 star WR's.

We will see what happens to Bama and DeBoer when Milroe leaves.
Joel Klatt said he feels better about Uga than he does Bama after seeing that game.

I wana see us frick up auburn and moostate and I will feel really good about the trip to Austin.

Whoa....."Fromm, Bennett and Beck...."

I'll say that I disagree that any of the above isn't as good as anyone Bama has had during their time at UGA.

Fromm - Led the team to the NC game as a true freshman.

Bennett - Led us to 2 NCs and won multiple offensive MVP awards along the way. He scored 6 TDs total in our annihilation of LSU in the SECCG and what did ANY Bama QB do during his time at UGA?

Beck - Lost one close game last season and was a Heisman trophy favorite to start this season. He certainly had some bad INTs vs Bama, but if Smith had not have let that pass go through his hands on that long bomb at the beginning, he'd have thrown for 500 yds vs Bama in THEIR stadium. I'm not ready to say he's a bust just yet just because he struggled in that game. Beating Bama in their stadium is tough for the best of QBs.

Everyone's down in the dumps because of the overall record vs Bama and...yeah - sure, I get it it. But man, we just lost some coin flips over the years. 2015 they killed us, but 12, 17, 18, and 23 were all 1 score games that we could have easily won had just ONE more thing went our way. Sometimes that's just how it is.

Never succeeded where they went either.

Fields won two conference championships, led his team to a national championship game appearance, and was a first-round draft pick.

Jacob Eason threw for 3000+ yards and 23 TDs in his one season in Washington (had to sit out one year due to the rules then). He's drawn quite a few NFL paychecks.

How have they not been successful?

Dual threat QB. We had one with Stetson. Now we don't. It's as simple as that. Also I don't think we have another on the roster.

Given one FB wish I would wish Kirby would prioritize getting the best 5 star QB each year. That would be followed closely by getting an OC who would utilize the talents of a DT QB.

He was cut and is no longer playing, correct? Did he ever do any more than a bench warmer?

Agree about Fields, but Eason was not very good.

He’s not “a great”, but he’s better than 99% of the people that ever play football.

What do you think the percentage is of people who make it onto an NFL roster out of all of the people who ever play football?

I don' tknow how in the world you can call those "misses". Every single one of them transferred to a place where they would immediatley start whihc they weren't going to do at UGA.

Immediately starting isn’t really the metric. I think if you were to rank the top 10 QBs from Bama and UGA over the past decade, they may well have the top 4 with Tua, Bryce, Hurts, and Mac Jones. Bennett and Beck could probably be argued over Jones, but reasonable people could disagree either way. While we may not have “missed”, we certainly haven’t kept up.

WR has been an even more drastic gap.

The receivers they were throwing to were other worldly. Beck shite the bed in the first half, but overall he's a great quarterback. He just doesn't have the luxury of throwing to DeVonta Smith, Jameson Williams, Waddle, or Metchie. Players like that can make any average quarterback look amazing.

Maybe not, but he's getting better. Last year he was throwing darts and missing. This year, he's putting more air under them so the WR has time to adjust. It's a definite improvement on his long balls. He did hit Smith in stride, but you know what happened there.

Okay. What percentage of high school football players make it into the field in FBS?

What percentage of FBS players make it onto an NFL roster?

Kirby has embraced the playoff bracket situation in a way that has made him less concerned about being in the SECCG.

There are several sports pundits who feel that the conference championship games may very well become obsolete within a few years.

Kirby is actually 1-1 versus Alabama when non-SEC officiating has been involved, and the one loss was the 2017 OT game.

When you have 3 offensive pass interference calls in the first half, what does that tell you? Sankey doesn't want to rock the boat in Birmingham, so it is what it is.

I am far from thinking that this team is a step below Alabama.

Time will tell.
