I was going to say Tae is the Lecounte of the linebackers. Two guys with great instincts for their position, but such non physical and poor tacklers.
The inevitable is Dean taking over that spot so I'd like to get him ready by the rough SEC stretch.

Love Crowder, give him credit for sticking with it but the fact he's starting means we whiffed on recruiting and is one of the reasons our rush defense is still trash.

No, it means that we’re in the first game of the season, he has a ton of experience in this defense, and the guys behind him are in their first or second year in the program, and at least one was banged up and couldn’t play.

Eh, Natrez just made the 53 for one of the best teams in the NFL. Highly doubt TC30 spends much time on an active roster.
Eh, all last year Natrez was the lowest graded player on our defense and in some cases was half the player of the top tier guys. . . so yeah. . . I'm gonna stick with TC30 being better for UGA.

Appreciate him but he should be a reserve player on this D. He was noticeably awful against Vandy. I will say he played well against Bama last year so maybe he just had a really bad game. Either way, he is going to lose his starting job just a matter of when - my guess is it happens by ND.

Glad to see others on this board - like myself - appreciate Crowder but acknowledge he shouldn't be a starter on a championship squad probably. This per the AJC today:
"On defense, it was noteworthy to see Quay Walker lined up next to Monty Rice with what appeared to be the first-team defense, and DJ Daniel lined up as a first-team cornerback."
Again, I like Crowder but we got to start getting our real talent some snaps

Crowder is a good 3rd down linebacker.
Blitz him and he is quick/fast enough to be dangerous.
He did great for us in pass coverage last season.
There is a money linebacker. Hes a little bigger than that (more suitable for 3rd down with a fields sized qb).
He does have room to grow. But all of our linebackers do. Hes not unique in that regard.

Tae is a Butkus semi-finalist this year.
Three time player of the week for our team

UGA is #2 in the nation in rush defense. Congrats again on Auburn’s big win this weekend.

After Tae's great Rose Bowl catch and down I was sold on the guy. The kid is league bound and needs to show out now.

I've been a fan of Crowder since he made the move to linebacker.
I think the reason a lot of posters were down on him is because ILB was probably the weakest position group last year, especially when Rice was out. Crowder made the most of his opportunities, but he also missed a good number of tackles and got sucked in on a lot of run plays. For a guy who hadn't played the position before, it's understandable.
This year, his play has been about as steady as anyone on the defense and I'm thrilled for the guy. It's a testament to Tae being a hard worker and earning his spot, and to the coaches being able to identify his talent as one of the lesser heralded former recruits on the roster.
(by the way, I was technically right when I said he wasn't an every down linebacker. Most of the time he's on the field is in the base and nickel defense.)

Slow to read and react. Slow to arrive at the ball carrier. Soft on contact at the point.

He’s just not on par, talent-wise, with the rest of the defense.

Such a shitty player to receive 3.7 million guaranteed from the NFL.
God Bless Tae-Tae and may God bless us all in these trying times.

Damn. Is it 3.7 guaranteed? Or is that the annual contract if he makes the team?
