Something I’ve noticed...

Crowder, although not the biggest MLB, always seems first to the ballcarrier whenever he cuts outside. Crowder himself rarely brings the guy down, but he always gets his arms on him, and delays him until everyone else gets there.

Although he’s not Roquan, I’d prefer him to a bigger LB who is always going for big hits and ends up missing tackles.

Weird. Crowder had a terrible game Saturday.

Slow to read and react. Slow to arrive at the ball carrier. Soft on contact at the point.

I love Tae for sticking it out, changing positions, catching the Rose bowl onside kick etc, but he has been average as grits. Dean or Walker are taking his snaps by the Florida game.

I didn't notice all of our personnel as we rotated a ton, but there were several plays where our safety was first to the outside. Sometimes they made the play (reed) and sometimes they were holding on for fear life (Lecounte).

Having the safety there isnt a bad thing. They have the best angle and are attacking downhill. Roquan had the speed and instinct to get there first. If tae is able to match that, then that is great.

He always holds the guy while the Calvary comes. He never totally misses tackles. Why does it matter? He is always first to the ballcarrier. Who cares if it’s a solo or assisted tackle as long as the yards gained is the same.

why does it matter that our mlb isn't able to tackle people himself, according to your analysis? I'd say that's a pretty big problem.

I prefer my linebackers to actually tackle people

Crowder won't be playing for UGA next year. Too much talent. He will be squeezed out.

Friendly reminder that this thread is supposed to be the Tae Crowder APPRECIATION thread.

Seems we've lost sight of that somehow.

I'm a fan of Crowder for his development from a 2* WR recruit to a starting LB and he has made some nice plays over the last few years, but I hope we see more of Quay/Tindall/Dean as the season goes on. I do think he provides some value in coverage... he just isn't an every down linebacker.

Look, I appreciate that Crowder does his best out there on the defense and gives his all for UGA. He’s just not on par, talent-wise, with the rest of the defense.

Still better than Natrez Patrick.

Eh, Natrez just made the 53 for one of the best teams in the NFL. Highly doubt TC30 spends much time on an active roster.

PFF full roster grades just came out for the Vandy game.

Surprisingly, Tae Crowder had the worst scores of anyone on our starting D.

Which is different from last year. Last year Lecount was going for the big hit and not wrapping up. This year (so far) he is actually wrapping up and taking people down...or at least hanging on until he gets help.
