Immediately, or at the end the season?

His team is an absolute dumpster fire this year, but I'm not gonna complain about never seeing him on the opposing sidelines again.

You know, in an odd way I absolutely love the guy. He's the Old-School southern odd-ball with a unique gift. Football and the SEC is better for having him around. I for one will miss the Ole Ball Coach...all his UGA success included.

BTW- imagine if UGA hired SOS instead of Goff. He did interview. Can only dream of what that might have brought about for our Dawgs.

Is this where USC hires a knockout coach and we fight for 4th place in the East?

Yes, because we could be Tennessee. No, wait, does that still count?

5th? That would probably make the "crazies" who say "here come the crazies" crazy enough to do something.

This is insane...can't believe the dude is hanging it up...great coach. I know he hated GA, but I have nothing but respect for the guy.

Good luck Spurrier.

Loved to hate him. Sad to see him go.

Who is a hero without its arch rival?

Josh Kendall @JoshatTheState
Steve Spurrier informed his team tonight that he is retiring and that an interim coach will be named Tuesday, according to a source

As a CFB fan, it is sad because of what he brought to the game and the press conferences. Kind of ends an era of the conference.

As a UGA fan, I have zero problem with him leaving though it won't change the fact that they bring their A game against us every time.

You know he hates that he retired now after that game this year. Probably kicking himself for not leaving after last year with his final game vs UGA being that shitshow in Columbia.

Same here. I'm surprisingly sad about this sudden retirement.

But I'm also glad we whipped him in his final season.
