Kirby is saying that Bennett gives us the best chance to win.
Maybe JT is hurt. Maybe JT sucks. Maybe both but informing us isn't going to help the situation.

B. It's not unreasonable to expect the HC of a powerhouse program like UGA to not treat fans like fricking idiots.
He doesn't owe us a damn thing though. The best thing I can tell you is your favorite sports teams are like strippers. They'll act like they like you but in reality they don't give a damn about you and they just want your money.

Kirby's going to tell you what he wants to tell you and you're not owed anything more. Your only real recourse is to come on this board and bitch but some, like me, are going to tell you that you are an idiot.

He is right you know and old Dooley was an incredible mic man to sucker all of us for many years of shite football.
Bama is just Bama, they are better at football systemically. But success at FSU, LSU, UF and Auburn piss me off. Dangled carrot.

Porter won the thread. Game over.

He does have 6 more SEC games to get better before he has to play bama again without their star receiver....

So don’t watch. That’s the answer to your question. Bitching about uga being in the top 5 proves you are a miserable fan.

then he needs to tell us why the hell the 5* transfer isn't getting any snaps.

Yea, that always happens to our qbs vs bama.. Green, Stafford, Murray, Lambert, Fromm.

Maybe JT just isn’t that good?

I just refuse to believe we would go out and grab this guy, who got granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA and knocked our incumbent graduate transfer QB everyone was raving about to sit out the season, (regardless of the agent talk) when healthy, just isn’t better than what’s already here.

Not true at all.

It's all speculation.
Maybe it's time for us all to take a deep breath and just see how things pan out.
One thing's for sure. If we see either backup play a significant number of real snaps on Saturday it will be departure on how Kirby's done things in the past - at least during the meat of the season. And if we see both of them it will be a significant departure.
If either scenario happens, I'll be more than happy.
Taking into account where we are right now, what more could you ask?

I’ll play along...
Insurance purpose for who?
But would we really get the guy for an insurance purpose if he wasn’t cleared to play this year? If not, that would defeat the purpose of him being insurance.
Totally dependent on who you talk to...I’m not sold that Jamie jumps ship if it’s September and it’s only him Mathis and Stet in the QB room. People on this very board said JT was a more equipped Air Raid QB.
Something we can at least agree on.

Just read the Connor Riley article posted about an hour ago and McKitty’s quotes...it’s gotta be a health thing.
“He’s coming along great,” McKitty said. “He’s my locker buddy so we get to talk a lot. He’s looking to get back and help the team any way he can...It’s great to have him around the team, working back through his injury. Hope to have him out there soon.”

Stafford has a win over Saban and Bama. Green has a win over Saban and LSU. It's not a foregone conclusion that we lose the next time.

He is the best option
Why is a program with five years of top three recruiting finishes even in such a situation? A guy who was never even under consideration as a starter at UGA is our best option? A 5-10, mediocre-arm strength QB is the best we've got? If so, Smart has done something wrong.
He appears to have three other quarterbacks with far greater upside but if he refuses to give meaningful time to any of them, we wind up going into next season with Bennett as the guy with all the experience and none of the talent. Then what? Bennett again in 2021? Smart's stubbornness and risk aversion is a problem.

It's pretty damn funny how Kirby speaks and so many are falling right in line in this thread.
"He doesn't owe us an explanation!" -- guy who buys tickets
"It's none of our business!" -- guy who buys all kinds of gear and memorabilia.
This is why Kirby pulls this shite. Why he closes practices. Why he limits his comments. Because y'all are just satisfied by whatever he says. Must be a Georgia thing. CHI, NY, PHI, etc., a coach doesn't just get to bullshite the media and fans without feeling the wrath.

Those were very different Bama teams and our O still struggled in those games. Both QB's threw 2 picks in those close wins, and we couldnt break 30 in either game.

Wait, so now you are comparing SEC football to trashy Yankee Fandom? Nice
