Don’t know if this is Kirby being stubborn or Kirby just flat out saying everyone else sucks too much to be on the field.

Edit: There is always a point in watching the rest of the season.

That is the question Given Smart's past QB evaluations and his affinity for south Georgia boys, I'd say he probably is just being stubborn.

We know Stetson is good enough to beat UK, Vandy, Mizzou, etc. That's not out of question.

Assuming JT is Healthy and has a higher ceiling, Smart should play him so we actually have a chance against BAMA.

Can't fix Stetson's arm strength and height on an off week.

I flat out think that Daniels isn’t healthy enough in the coaching staff’s eyes to play yet. If he was I think he would be playing.

My only other explanation is less satisfying. Daniels looked to be a gunslinger from his USC tape. Looked to take a lot of chances with risky throws. If he’s been throwing a lot of picks in practice I could see them going with Bennett because he protects the ball better.

But like I said, I really do believe it to be a health issue.

IDK.He fumbled once and threw 3 picks last week (I'll give em a pass on one) He also had 4 passes blocked. We were lucky up til now that only one of his blocked passes has resulted in a turnover.

This isn't great ball security.

Not arguing his struggles against Bama but unless I’m missing something that is the only game he’s turned the ball over at all.

I was thinking about this yesterday. In order to be explosive you have to take risk SOMETIMES. Obviously there is alot that goes into that. But when you watch what Mac Jones did to is seems you just need a guy that can make those throws in a place that limits ints

agree

I wonder if we roll Stetson out with the hope we can run all over them with Zeus and co. like Mizzou did but know we have nearly or actually ready JTD in the back pocket if things turn quickly. Or let him get some easy reps in the second half.

I think JTD starts vs Florida.

Problem is I am not sure Kentucky is an opponent to play games with.

Once again,we've been very fortunate his blocked/tipped passes before the Bama game didn't in turnovers.

He also takes risks throwing over the middle of the field (not against it BTW and I like using the entire field) but you better have Drew Brees type accuracy if you're gonna make those passes or a miss in any direction is gonna bite you.

He's definitely not a low risk QB like Fromm...which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

There's no way he starts the most important game of the season. Kirby starting Stetson this week means he's our starter for the rest of the year.

I keep going back to what Mike Griffiths has said. He watched JTD at a scrimmage and said he was slinging it and I think he said Newman left cause he was in a battle with JTD.
