Texas is currently in the only team to beat a non sec opponent this bowl season. The dominance is over, I was wondering how long it would take once Saban left. Didn’t know it would be this quick

Would be like Cowboys and Giants fans pulling for the Eagles in the playoffs

Saban's last national championship was 2020, a screwy Covid year where players and entire teams opted out or were forced to miss multiple games. In the playoffs, Alabama faced a Notre Dame team that played a very weak schedule and lost 34-10 to Clemson in the ACCCG, and an Ohio State team that played 6 games in the regular season and no CCG.

Other than that asterisk season, Saban's dominance has been over since 2017 when they beat UGA with the help of some bad officiating.

Kneehigh answer is the only right answer. On to basketball it’s really fun to watch! And I hope they all lose but Indiana will win it all

Wasn’t there a report that came out that Beck and Bobo didn’t see eye to eye.
Beck was a horrible teammate? Etc.

Then he goes to a team with arguably less talent.
If he wins a title….

I’m a firm believer it’s not a talent issue. It’s coaching

None of that speaks poorly of Bobo. Reports, which is a euphemism for rumors, say all kinds of things. There were "reports" that Miami paid Beck $4M this year, which is a lot of incentive if true. Also, in 2024 the internet was riddled with Georgia fans, or people claiming to be Georgia fans, who badmouthed Beck virtually the entire season, picking up where they left off badmouthing Stetson Bennett. College players read that stuff and it makes them feel unwelcome. Now they have immediate options and they frequently look elsewhere, which is one reason we have a growing cottage industry in internet college football trolling.

Gunner Stockton had 16 pass attempts in the 2024 regular season, against Tennessee Tech and UMass. I doubt Bobo ran Beck off, because he knew Carson was the best and most experienced QB on his roster, troubles against a tough 2024 schedule notwithstanding. But the combination of "fan" bashing and a massive paycheck were more than enough reason for Beck to leave.

This is the point I was making in my earlier response. Nothing about Miami making the playoffs with Beck, or even winning it all, says anything negative about Mike Bobo. Beck could win a title at Miami. He could've won a title at Georgia but, because of different circumstances, he didn't get the opportunity to play in the playoffs that he's getting at Miami. In 2023, cfb had a 4 team playoff and Georgia didn't make it in with one 3 point loss in the SECCG. That was a championship caliber team. In 2024, Beck didn't participate in the playoffs because he was injured.

In 2025, Miami made it in with two lossess and didn't even play in the ACCCG. And, unlike Bobo, Miami is actually getting a chance to use their experienced 5th year senior QB in the playoffs. During the Ohio State game, Cristobal described Beck as having "old eyes". What he meant was that Beck (and, by extension. Miami) is the beneficiary of the time, experience and coaching he had in Athens.

BS. Strength of schedule still matters. If OM wins out our SOS looks better and helps us next season. SEC schedules need to be perceived as the hardest by committees when considering CFP. We don't need to be perceived as frauds because of an SEC bias if OM gets boat raced in the next game or the natty. So pardon me if I'd like to see another SEC team win the natty.

I like the IU story and they've been impressive. I don't gamble either so while it would appear IU is odds on favorite to win it all right now, I'm not rooting for them.

If you ever lived outside of the SEC states you are aware everyone outside of the SEC hates the SEC and will first and foremost cheer against the only SEC left. frick those people I hope Ole Miss wins.

Hate to be the one to burst peoples bubble of Santa isn't real but who you cheer for has nothing to do with who wins.

I go the other way. Other than Georgia, I don't want to see any SEC team win it. I couldn't give any less of a shite about conference pride, and I say that as someone who lived in the Midwest for more than 10 years.

What is this “we?” Do you need others make the decision for you?

Just weird that you need to find out who others are rooting for in order to decide who you will root for.

I may be misinterpreting but I don't see OP actually needing a recommendation. I took it as them being curious about other posters and giving other folks a stage to explain why they're still rooting for certain teams.

Also I'm rooting for Oregon & Ole Miss, in that order. If it's Miami - Indiana in the final I'll be rooting for Miami's backup QB to save the day after Beck gets benched for throwing 3 picks in the 1st half.
