In spite of what others have said, I don't think so.

Given both Eason's and Fromm's body of work, I don't see how Eason would have given us a better chance of winning with our OL being whipped all night and Chaney calling plays from his magic 8 ball.

No QB on our roster would have had success given everything else that happened on Saturday.

I'm not sure Eason could've done any better at executing handoffs while down 3 scores.

It would have been reasonable to do so, but I also don't have any real feeling that it would have meaningfully improved things. Eason's biggest hangup in terms of game management has been holding onto the ball too long (even in backup duty this season)... there was no scenario where we could have afforded that in this matchup.

I agree. I've seen a lot of people say we should've put Eason in the game. My whole point is that Eason would not have been an improvement and that Fromm didn't lose this game for us. We didn't lose because of bad QB play.

Eason would have been even worse, which is pretty incredible. He doesn't move as well as Fromm, forces tough throws, and doesn't have touch on the soft stuff.

He would have thrown multiple picks and gotten sacked twice as much. No thanks.

Nothing against Eason. We could have started Jesus Christ himself at QB and still not scored more than 20.

Eason was pissed saturday. You could see him standing at the opposite end of the sideline by himself throughout the second half.

You trying to say Jesus can’t call an RPO?

To this point in the season, it appeared that the OL played harder for Fromm than it did for Eason. If that is true, then Eason would've quite literally gotten killed on the Plains.

No. Fromm is our starting QB now. And as a Freshman he needed reps against a tough defense like Auburn's. When protection is a problem, you need a mobile QB and while Fromm isn't a legit dual-threat QB, he is much more mobile, makes quicker decisions than Eason and has a quicker release; all important assets when facing an overwhelming defense.

Bottom line: we are going to need a better OL to compete at the highest level. A total of 46 yards rushing pretty much tells the story of this game. Meanwhile, Auburn had 237 rushing yards so basically their OL got the job done and ours didn't.

Fromm could have been replaced by Tom Brady and it wouldn't matter with the way the O-Line played on Saturday

Not replaced. Fromm is our starting QB. Don’t see anything wrong with letting Eason sling it for the final quarter though.

Call? Sure, though not sure how well the rest of the offense would understand Aramaic, so there might be some confusion. Execute? Not sure how mobile or sure-handed he'd be after the nails, and he's definitely undersized, so durability would also be a factor.

Not one positive thing would’ve come from that.

No. That game wasn't lost because of Fromm. If he had thrown several INTs, maybe. but he was fine. He's been so good, we forget he is a true freshman.

It's one game. (Not directed at you, Foo)
